Access from the D2 between Plonéour-Lanvern and Pont-l'Abbé: sign indicating the chapel; parking available for four to five vehicles. At the start or finish, head into the grassy enclosure planted with oak trees to discover the chapel dating from 1876, an Iron Age stele, and the fountain and wash house.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, go up the access road, turn right to walk alongside a farm and turn right into the sunken path downhill which leads to a wetland area.
(1) Turn left, follow the path along the wetland and arrive at the crossroads behind the dam.
Yellow PR® markings (in the opposite direction)
(2) Go left, cross a car park and take the path that runs alongside the lake: view of the dam. Continue along the lake, observing the birds that are regularly present (around forty species have been counted). You will come to a fork (short circuit and long circuit posts).
No markings
(3) Turn left onto a boardwalk along a stream (long route) and continue to a small road, which you should follow to the right. Ignore the access road to Le Leuré farm and climb up to the nearby crossroads.
(4) Turn right at the sign for "Moulin de Kerbénoc'h". Ignore the access roads to Créac'h Irvin and then Kerbénoc'h and arrive at the small car park after the old mill, which has been converted into a lodge (information panel on the lake). Continue across a small bridge over the Ruisseau du Lanvern.
Yellow PR® markings (in the opposite direction)
(5) Turn right to reach the edge of the lake (barrier). Follow the edge clockwise and head towards its northern end, an area overgrown with aquatic plants and shrubs, some of which have fallen over, and often frequented by swans. You will reach a footbridge.
(6) Cross this footbridge over the Pont-l'Abbé River, a modest stream that feeds the lake. Continue along a rather marshy area. Continue southwards, and gradually the view of the lake will widen
(7) On your left, you will see a small pond called Étang Noir, which is part of the nearby Manoir de Lestrémec estate. You will come to two barriers at a car park with an information panel explaining how this water reserve is managed (start of a section of the route suitable for people with reduced mobility - sign)
(8) Continue towards the dam and pass the new SAUR pumping facilities on your right.
(9) Go up to the left into a wooded area planted with Christmas trees and turn right to go down to the decking at the back of the dam. Cross this wetland area where the Pont-l'Abbé River flows again after passing through the reservoir and return to the path you took on the way there.
(2) Turn left and, following the same route in reverse, return to the car park near the Bonne Nouvelle Chapel (S/E).
