A short visit to our French neighbours from Erquennes

You can park in the small car park behind the church.

(S/E) Go round the front of the church, head towards the “Institution des filles” building and take the path running alongside it on the right until you reach a junction.

(1) Turn right, then follow Rue Grosse Croix to the left and cross into France.

(2) Go straight on along the path through the Bois du Fontenoy until you reach a copse of poplars.

(3) Take the sharp left turn onto Chemin des Potiers and continue to Rue Wilson.

(4) Turn left towards a house; when you reach it, take the path on the left and walk alongside a copse. Continue to a junction at a place called Le Touquet.

(5) Follow the path on the right, cross into Belgium and continue to the Chapelle Saint-Ghislain.

(6) Go straight on until the next junction.

(7) Turn left onto the path known as Rue des Leuses, heading towards the water tower, and continue to the end of the street.

(8) In the village, follow Rue Longue to the right as it curves. Go to the end, take the footpath and turn left into Rue Derrière l’église. You are now back at Saint-Ghislain Church (S/E).
