Park in the car park opposite the village hall in Hon.
(S/E) In the car park, you will see an old washing machine. Take the small street towards the church and the old cemetery. At the bottom of the steps, turn right until you reach the crossroads, where you will see a tarare (a traditional stone used for winnowing grain). Continue right along Rue de la Gare. Note the combine harvester. You are on the left bank of the Hogneau. Before the crossroads, you can see a pond on the left, which is the Trou Poupoule, an old open-cast quarry.
Note the royou and the envoleuse.
(1) Turn right, pass in front of the school, then turn left onto Rue Maxime Anssiau. You will see the hay tedder. Stay on this street until you reach the crossroads with Rue Haig Le Pré Navart.
(2) Turn left onto this street. Notice the typical closed-courtyard farms with their stone foundations, brick walls and sloping slate roofs.
(3) At the bridge over the Courbagne stream, note the harrow, the rake and the drill. Continue to a three-way junction.
(4) Turn left onto Rue Wilson and continue for a few metres, then turn right onto Chemin des Potiers. This section is shared with the Tournée des Chapelles route. At the end of the path, you will reach the hamlet of La Belle Vue.
(5) Turn left and continue towards the Jonquière campsite. Other agricultural machines are on display (ploughs, etc.). After the campsite, turn right onto Rue Wilson. At the church in Hon, discover new agricultural tools.
(6) Continue straight ahead, turn left onto Chemin de la Tête, then right onto Rue de la Marne until you reach Pont des Bergers on the RD105.
(7) Take the road on the left, Rue Laurent Niogret, and after the Pont des Bergers bridge, turn left onto the path that runs alongside the river. This was the old railway line created in the early19th century to transport materials such as marble and stone. Return to the original crossroads.
(1) Follow the tarmac road to the right, then turn left onto Rue de la Gare. At the end on the left, you will find the car park (S/E).
A very pleasant and easy hike. The area is very bucolic. The idea of scattering old machines along the route is original. What's more, the explanations are clear and precise, making this route very informative. I highly recommend it on a beautiful sunny day.
