Around the Bois Roger
Our elders remember walking these often shady paths many times, which led to pastures and farms. Donkeys pulled carts along them at milking time, farmers drove their cattle up them from Croissanville, children in clogs used them to get to school or forgot to do so, and love blossomed there...

Route of the Cambremer Orchards and its surroundings
This circular route on dirt tracks and tarmac paths, some of which are very busy with vehicles (hence the need for caution), uses sections of trails, paths and roads shared with other walks, but much of the route is new. The route is generally very peaceful, with many valleys, hills, manor houses, stud farms and the village of Cambremer to visit at the end of the route for those who wish to do so.

The Devil's Breach
Legend has it that the devil split the plateau to allow access to the church of Saint-Quentin. The Laizon gorge has become a beautiful hiking trail, passing through steep, narrow gorges to the plateaus of the Falaise plain, near the tomb of the actress Marie Joly, the former site of the iron mine, manor houses, castles and traces of prehistoric occupation. The site has been listed since 1974
Village and bocage in Beuvron-en-Auge
Beuvron-en-Auge is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. With its half-timbered houses and old market hall, restaurants, cafés and artisans, it is a relaxing stopover in the heart of the bocage.
Discovering Soumont, Ouilly-le-Tesson and Saint-Quentin
A hermit named Saint-Quentin sought to tame the capricious waters of the Laizon. Failing to do so, he made a pact with the devil. He asked him to split the rock in two to let the erratic waters of the Laizon pass through and to clean a fleece there to restore its immaculate whiteness, after which the devil would be master of his soul. The devil split the rock in two but could not restore the fleece to its immaculate whiteness because the hermit, to save his soul, had given the devil a goatskin.
The valley of the church at Les Autels-Saint-Bazile
Starting from the town hall in Les Autels-Saint-Bazile, you’ll walk on level ground through a forest along a dirt track, then down a small sunken path leading to the little church at Les Autels-Saint-Bazile (listed as a historic monument). You’ll cross the River Monne, passing pastures dotted with apple trees and half-timbered houses, before heading back up a picturesque sunken path
Circular walk in the Monne Valley starting from Les Autels-Saint-Bazile
A circular loop along the sunken paths of the Pays d’Auge, a landscape typical of Normandy. Descend into the Monne valley, following the path of the old tannery mill and the leat (which no longer exist). Climb up another valley along another sunken path before crossing a forest… A few damp sections, a steep descent and a lovely climb.
The Chemin des Saulniers in Sannerville
Sannerville is the easternmost of the communes in Caen-la-Mer. This village, which was completely razed to the ground in 1944, is now influenced by Caen’s population growth whilst remaining in the countryside, which gives it a quality of life much appreciated by its residents. Sannerville lies on the edge of the Pays d’Auge.
