Parentis-en-Born walks

Hike a stone's throw from Biscarrosse town centre. Short route on trails with a few sandy sections. Please note that there are a few hundred metres along the road. This trail takes you around the Petit Étang de Biscarrosse lake on shaded paths.

A short hike, mostly shaded, which can be done on foot or by mountain bike/hybrid bike. Several viewpoints over the Étang de Cazaux and Sanguinet on the section running alongside the lake. A quiet and very relaxing route.

A pleasant walk in the Landes forest, which is not always flat... With your family and at a leisurely pace, allow 2 hours; alone and walking briskly, it will take you less than an hour and a half.

The proposed route crosses the state-owned forests north of Biscarosse Plage on the border between the Gironde and Landes departments, and takes you along the shores of Lake Cazaux-Parentis. This route will allow you to discover the different faces of the Landes dunes It takes you along sections of hiking trails marked by the Biscarrosse Tourist Office and a section ofthe GR®8. Author's note: this route was posted online in 2018 after being tested. As I am no longer in the area, I am unable to verify it and some sections in the forest may have undergone changes as a result of forestry work and the 2022 fires that affected the region.

This is a very diverse circular route that allows you to discover two aspects of Mimizan. On the one hand, there is the historical aspect: the bell tower, the wash house, the Borne de Sauveté, and the Château de Woolsack. On the other hand, there is the geographical aspect: the dunes, the forest, the flora, and the site of Lac d'Aureilhan Mimizan. Please note: A municipal decree dated 12 December 2017 prohibits the use of the footbridge known as "Gombaut" (point 7 on the map) for the safety of users. A pleasant walk in three parts: - the banks of the Courant de Mimizan - the forest and coastal dunes (flora and fauna) - the ocean and the beach.

Walk along the ocean to return via the Dune du Pilat with beautiful views of the Banc d'Arguin Nature Reserve and Cap Ferret.

A family walk through the forest and then across the Eyre delta and its marshland landscapes, with wildlife in abundance throughout the route.

On a stroll through the marshes, port, town and pine forest, enjoy the invigorating air of the Arcachon basin and the charm of the vestiges of the belle époque of this seaside town, which has seen many great moments and preserved many reminders of them.

Ride along a small country road, then a forest track. The Marquis Museum is the main attraction in this area, which is otherwise lacking in activity outside of this tourist hotspot. The short loop offered here is an alternative to the crowds attracted by the museum and has the advantage of allowing you to discover the culture of the Landes region.

The Certes and Graveyron estates in Audenge (33) are a group of former salt marshes, once used as fish ponds, nestled in the Arcachon basin. Now a nature reserve, it is a unique place to observe nature and especially birds. The short loop trail allows you to explore these places at your leisure.

A hike with alternating: - Ocean-side beaches and blockhouses with attractive graffiti. - Beaches on the Arcachon basin side with views of the Dune du Pyla and Arcachon. - Forest trails. - Explore 44 hectares featuring the most beautiful villas in the basin. The Dunes ABC at Cap Ferret is a nature trail. On this trail, which runs along the back of the dunes, walkers will discover a large photo album from north to south, organised alphabetically from A for "Algae" to Z for "Zoster".

With no elevation gain, as it always follows the level of the ponds, this hike allows you to immerse yourself in the unspoilt nature of the wetlands of the Hostens departmental estate, created on a former lignite mine 40 km south of Bordeaux.

An easy route combining history, gastronomy and discovery in a picture-postcard setting. Five kilometres long, it starts at the edge of the Chapel of the Villa Algérienne, crosses four oyster-farming villages between beaches and pine trees before ending at Pointe aux Chevaux.

This route goes around the two large lakes of Arjuzanx, Lake Commanday and Lake Arjuzanx. The track is on a gravel path and is suitable for mountain bikes.

Hike starting from a must-see spot in the Arcachon Basin, mentioned by Pascal Obispo in "Tombé pour elle".A forest trail with access to the ocean via a wild passage, a walk along the waves (perhaps with your feet in the water), and a return through the forest to the Piraillan Reservoirs Nature Reserve and the beaches of the Arcachon Basin and the oyster-farming village of Grand Piquey.A varied and charming hike.

This route offers a wide variety of terrain, including streams, sunny areas and shaded areas.

In the privileged environment of the Bordeaux suburbs, there are many opportunities for walks and hikes. This loop, with its varied landscapes, can be enjoyed as a quiet and relaxing stroll, or, on the contrary, covered at a brisk pace using the techniques of power walking or Nordic walking. I opted for the latter, for a workout circuit lasting about an hour and a half.

A short loop, suitable for all ages, to discover the vineyards and moors of Pessac-Léognan. Very few roads, beautiful views. Easy to follow.

An easy loop through vineyards and forest Just half an hour from Bordeaux, Lac Beu de Léognan is hidden away in the middle of a forest park. It is a place much loved by families and other walkers for its bucolic setting and tranquillity.

Discovery hike along the Eau Blanche stream. It rises in Lipomey, south-southeast of Léognan. It winds through the forest before crossing Léognan and heading towards Cadaujac and then Courrejan, where it flows into the Garonne. The hike runs along the left bank of the vineyards of the Châteaux de France, Fieuzal and Le Sartre, Pessac-Léognan grands crus classés. On the way back, it runs along the right bank, crosses Mignoy, and passes near Château Chevaliner, another Pessac-Léognan grand cru classé.

Between Cestas and Léognan, there are wide open spaces for beautiful, healthy walks, whatever the season. This is a walk that can be enjoyed with the family at a leisurely pace, but is also perfect for Nordic walking. Between the two lakes, the landscape is constantly changing, as both the vineyards and the forest take on a different appearance depending on the season and how they are used.
