Parking at Le Vivier.
(S/E) Start the hike by taking the blue marked trail. Walk about 400 metres north and take the path to the left (leaving the blue trail). Continue for about 150 metres and turn right.
(1) Turn right onto the forest path bordering the Gironde and Landes regions and walk to the intersection with the D83 and the cycle path.
(2) Continue straight ahead - sandy section and uphill for 400 metres (10% gradient). Hunters' huts at the top of the hill on the right.
(3) Turn right. Take care on the descent in the sand with a gradient of more than 15%.
(4) Turn right at the access barrier and continue (about 400m), always keeping to the left (section not marked on the IGN map) until you reach the intersection with the perpendicular road.
(5) Continue straight ahead for approximately 100m max (cross the "clearing") and turn left (return to the blue marked trail). Follow the blue markers.
Climb for 600m (average gradient 10%).
(6) At the hunters' tower, continue to follow the blue trail. Some parts of the path are sandy.
(7) Leave the blue trail and turn left onto the D305. This is the least pleasant part of the route, so watch out for traffic.
(8) Turn right at the access barrier and take the "de la fosse des chevaux" forest path for about 2 km.
(9) At the end of the forest track, turn right onto the path marked with a green sign with an X.
(10) Turn right and take the end of the Green route.
(11) At the end of the green trail, turn left towards the roundabout and follow the cycle path alongside the campsite. Turn right at the car park entrance and head towards Plage du Vivier until you reach the starting point (S/E).
