Coming from Le Teich, follow the D650 towards Gujan-Mestras; once you reach the hamlet of Le Baron, leave the road and take the dirt track on the right, cross the railway line and park in the car park.

(S) Take the light-coloured gravel path opposite and continue to a fork.

(1) Take the path on the right.

A walk along the dykes, not particularly interesting (apart from the presence of a few swans and ducks), which involves a return journey.

It’s a shame there are very few views of the surrounding area because of the vegetation that forms walls along the paths.

A walk along the seawall that separates the Arcachon Basin (with its vast mudflats and small sandy beaches revealed at low tide) from the scrubland and ponds teeming with birds: ducks and moorhens, a few swans, waders and so on...It’s a lovely spot to enjoy with the family; you’ll come across plenty of young couples with small children.

Cyclists seem to be annoyed by hikers, and some of them aren’t shy about letting us know!!!!
It’s too crowded on Sundays and some people don’t respect the rule about keeping their dogs on a lead!!!!!

We had a lovely walk in fine weather. There is a way to avoid having to drive back and forth and the need for two cars. At the end of the route, carry on straight ahead, cross the main road and take the next path on the left to reach Le Teich.
