Exploring the ruined castles of Binans and Beauregard
Pleasant paths through clearings and forests to explore these historic sites. Various information boards recount the significance and eventful history of these two castles.
Depending on the season, various views open up through the vegetation, particularly to the east.
Conliège circular route via the viewpoints and tunnels
This lovely, easy walk will take you to the Conliège hermitage and then, via forest paths, to various viewpoints overlooking Lons-le-Saunier and the Revigny valley. The return journey follows the greenway and passes through various viaducts and tunnels (including the famous 100-Step Tunnel, which you can choose to visit and walk through on the way there and back).

This is a little-known hike offering magnificent views, all less than 10 km from Lons-le-Saunier
Lake Vouglans, Tour de Meix and Belvédère
A very pleasant circular route along Lake Vouglans with views of the Pont de la Pyle bridge. A long ribbon winding between wooded hills, Lake Vouglans is 35 km long. Located in the heart of the Jura, it is one of the region's aquatic gems and one of the best-preserved large lakes in France. There are no roads running alongside it, and a few beaches and ports are widely open to visitors. The paths are very well marked. Discover the ruins of the Château de la Tour de Meix.
Lake Vouglans - Surchauffant cliffs
Discover the splendour of France's third largest reservoir with its turquoise blue waters. In this magnificent setting, walk between forests and steep cliffs with superb views of the lake.
From Châtillon to Menétrux-en-Joux
Tenth stage of the Échappée Jurassienne. For this stage starting from Châtillon, you will head towards the largest natural lake in the Jura: the magnificent Lac de Chalain. A true blue jewel surrounded by limestone rocks, the lake can be seen in all its splendour from the plateau, offering breathtaking panoramic views. You will then walk through stunning natural landscapes before reaching Menétrux-en-Joux, located near the famous Hérisson waterfalls. An adventure where every step will reveal enchanting and varied scenery!
Varessia Chapel and Ridge
A lovely route along shaded, unmarked paths in the woods around Varessia. An easy route suitable for the whole family. Come and discover the chapel, the ridge and the Maison des Blaireaux de Varessia. The diverse forest of Varessia is home to magnificent flora and trees!
The Lavoir de Tuile circuit
A pleasant hike in the hills above Lons-le-Saunier. You will pass a completely isolated wash house, climb up to the Belvédère de Montaigu, descend into the middle of the Val de Sorne golf course, and walk along paths accompanied by birdsong and the sound of flowing water. This is a well-marked and well-maintained circuit with two significant climbs.
On either side of the Pont de la Pyle bridge
On either side of the Pont de la Pyle, there are so many wonderful things to see, do and discover!One side takes you along a long, peaceful path through the woodland, skirting the lake, with viewing points and a picnic area.The other side, more touristy, takes you to the ruins of a castle, caves, viewing points, and a leisure area with a harbour and a beach.In short, everything you need for a great day out!A lovely route for trail running enthusiasts.
Perrigny - Châtillon
Ninth stage of the Échappée Jurassienne. This transitional stage marks the end of a region full of unexpected treasures, including salt mines, majestic forests, vineyards, charming villages and iconic remote areas, and takes you to the Pays des Lacs et des Cascades (Land of Lakes and Waterfalls). A winding balcony trail will take you to the first plateau with its pastures, farms and small villages. Overlooking the Ain valley, you will end this route in Châtillon, where you will catch a glimpse of the first foothills of the Jura.
The Langard route starting from Soucia

On this pleasant route, there's no question of getting lost, but rather of enjoying the landscape and this world apart that opens up under the green shade of its remarkable trees, sublime clearings, refreshing waterfalls, breathtaking viewpoints and mysterious caves.
The route is also suitable for trail runners.

Coyron, Moirans-en-Montagne, Maisod circular loop
A pleasant, quiet route with a few technical sections, suitable for mountain bikers in good physical condition!It is definitely preferable to complete this route in the suggested direction, as some slopes are more difficult when ridden in the opposite direction.
The Cimante waterfalls
This beautiful, mostly shaded route offers views of several waterfalls, each as pretty as the next, as well as a cave open on the side of a cliff with a spring flowing from it. The vegetation is very diverse and you can see the tireless work of water on the rock.

A superb route exploring the little-known Savignard valley and taking in the ruins of Montorient Castle, offering magnificent views over the vineyards, the Bresse region, and as far as the foothills of Burgundy.
