Route through the Grünewald in Luxembourg
A bit of land art, small religious buildings, Roman qanats, a nature reserve... A circular route just 10 minutes from Luxembourg City.
Inline skating route in Luxembourg
Here’s an inline-skating route that takes you on a tour of the Kirchberg district and Luxembourg City. The route follows almost exclusively cycle paths. The only difficulties you may encounter along the way are cobbled sections, uneven surfaces in the parks and tactile paving for the visually impaired in front of each pedestrian crossing. I wouldn’t recommend this route for beginners. Start: Luxexpo tram stop, finish: Place de Paris
Gonderange - Bourglinster
2nd stage of Extra Tour D of Mullerthal. You will mainly walk on wide paths, notably at the “Gatter”, the 500ha private forest of the Grand Ducal family accessible to the public since 2009. Bourglinster Castle will be your final point.
Discover the city of Luxembourg
From the Plateau des Trois Glands and the Vauban fortifications, descend into the lower part of the old town and escape via a panoramic lift. Then head to the historic centre from the Bock plateau and follow the corniche path to the Plateau du St-Esprit. Discover the Place de la Gelle Fra and then venture onto the footbridge suspended under the Adolphe Bridge. If you feel like it, head to the former ARBED building, now the headquarters of SpuerKeess. Finish your escape with a short tram ride to the Hamilius Forum, from where you can easily reach the Place d'Armes, the Grand Ducal Palace and Place Guillaume. The latter two squares offer a wide range of cafés and restaurants to suit all budgets.
Stroll through Luxembourg's old town
Set off to discover Luxembourg, its old town, its cobbled paths high up for changing panoramic views, cross a park surrounded by Vauban fortifications. Climb to the top of the Rock Bock and descend towards the old town.
Mullerthal Trail ExtraTour A
From Larochette, you cross the forest towards Meysembourg Castle. The path then leads through beautiful countryside of meadows and fields towards the rock formations at Nommerlayen, which are very well known in the region. From the village of Nommern, you pass through the Seitert Forest to Medernach, before returning to Larochette via a section of the Mullerthal Route 3.
Mullerthal Trail ExtraTour C
This circular route connects the villages of Bech and Altrier. You start next to the old Bech railway station, discover the natural site of Bildchen in Altrier (a large oak tree over 1,000 years old) and finish at the 300-metre-long Bech Tunnel. The section between Altrier and Bech offers beautiful views of the valley.
Nommerlayen
A leisurely walk through the rock fissures of Nommern with a gentle return via wide forest paths.
Circular route in the Müllerthal via the W8 Trail, Route 3 and the W7
A walk suitable for all abilities in the Müllerthal, following signposted paths. The scenery is varied, with sections through woodland, a stretch across fields, and ending alongside stream beds.
Around Consdorf, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Narrow crevices, caves and impressive rock formations are on the agenda for this hike in Luxembourg's Little Switzerland.
Route 2/Stage 1: Mullerthal – Echternach
You’ll walk alongside the Black Ernz to the Schiessentumpel, a picturesque little waterfall that has become the symbol of the Mullerthal region. You’ll continue towards the spectacular rock formations of Eulenburg, Goldfralay and Goldkaul.
You’ll also discover one of the region’s most beautiful rock ‘crevices’: the ‘Kohlscheuer’, and will then pass through a succession of rocky outcrops known as Daxelay, Einsiedelei and Härgottskapp, as well as through forests, all the way to Echternach.
Route 3/Stage 1: Mullerthal - Larochette
You’ll walk along forest paths, past sandstone rocks and through the Luxembourg countryside. Larochette Castle awaits you as the final stop on this journey.
Circular in Mullerthal
This hike is rated as very difficult if done in a single day, but it is possible to complete it in two or three days with bivouacking. It is advisable to start near Consdorf and stop before Lauterborn to sleep; there are some beautiful spots.
Rammelay - Schelmelay - Goldfralay: spectacular rock formations
Rammelay, Schelmelay, Goldkaul, Goldfralay and Eulenburg are the names of some of the rocks you will encounter along the way. Erosion has created bizarre shapes in the rocks, which can sometimes be compared to enormous heads.
