Mullerthal Trail M markings

(S/E) At the picnic tables on your right, take thefirst path on the right. The path descends. Ignore the steps at the start of the gorge.

(1) Turn right just after the steps and descend between the rock faces. Once you’ve come out, keep to the left. At the Fork in the road, ignore the path leading down to the wide track. Walk along the rocks. Take the footbridge and head right. Stay close to the rocks.

(2) Pass a shortfirst fissure called Rammlay. The path takes a sharp right-hand bend; keep close to the rocks at all times. Cross one gorge (marked as Drachelay on Osm, but this is incorrect), then asecond. Cross the stream (dry in June) and then cross Drachelay itself. Once out of the gorge, continue to the left. At the Fork in the road, stay close to the rocks.

(3) At the junction, go straight on. Ignore the path leading up towards the rocks and look out for the next gorge. Head towards the steps. Before exiting the gorge, take the steps on the right, keep to the right and climb the steps in the rock again.

(4) At the top, cross the footbridge. Keep to the right and go back down the steps. Return to the gorge and now continue to the right. At the junction, with the post on your left, continue straight ahead. Change of signposting.

Whilst the second half of the route is easy, the first half – which is much more scenic – is far from it: it’s a real rollercoaster ride, with a few steep climbs and plenty of steps.
