La Petite Pierre is a small village situated in the Northern Vosges. Perched atop a rocky outcrop, its historic centre, known as Staedtel, encapsulates everything a medieval Alsatian town has to offer: a castle, picturesque narrow streets, a medieval atmosphere, and charming houses... This circular walk also takes you to visit the suburb north of the old town, as far as the Napoleonic bench.

A beautiful, undulating walk towards the chapel and spring at Bonne Fontaine, following the route of seven sandstone steles sculpted by Claude Metzmeyer from Saverne. On the way there, you will pass by the Rocher de la Bande Noire and, on the way back, by the Grotte des Amoureux.
Circular Winterberg to Birenberg and Insect Trail in La Petite Pierre
A lovely, undulating walk through the woodland, not particularly difficult, between Rocher Blanc and Rocher du Corbeau, returning via the Chemin des Insectes.

A pleasant hike to stretch your legs. Ideal in early May when nature is waking up. Passes by an impressive rocky outcrop (beautiful view) and caves. Most of the walk is in the shade and the hike follows a river on the last part of the route. Also pleasant in the height of summer.

On either side of the Zorn
Climb up to the rocky outcrop where the castles of Haut-Barr and the two Geroldseck castles stand, overlooking the Zorn valley. Then climb up to Brotschberg with its tower, rock and cave. Next, descend towards the Zorn via the Krappenfels rocks and climb up to the Rappenfels to reach the Saint-Vit Cave, the Marienfels and Greifenstein Castle.
From Kaestenberg to Breitkopf and Rappenfels via the Fossé des Pandours
Climb up to the Kaestenberg rock face and the10th BCP cave, then to the Fossé des Pandours via the Sentier des Menhirs. Climb up to the Breitkopf overhang via the Mélanie fountain, then to the ruiniform Rappenfels peak via the Bavarians' fountain. And finally, the Saint-Vit cave and the ruins of Greifenstein Castle.

The Twelve Apostles Stone from Wingen-Sur-Moder
This hike, tested on 15/01/2022, takes us to the Pierre des Douze Apôtres (Breitenstein), marking the border between Alsace and Moselle. This stone dates back to the time of the Druids and was used for sacrifices before being gradually transformed by Christianisation.The hike follows forest paths through the forests of the Northern Vosges.

On the heights of Saverne from the Schweizerhof Forest House
This hike starts next to the Schweizerhof forest house, located 5 km from the Saverne exit, in the direction of Lutzelbourg. There are two superb viewpoints to discover, at the Rappenfels rock and the Saint-Vit cave.
