Molitg-les-Bains walks

A beautiful hike facing the Canigou massif. It takes you up to Pic del Rosselló, from where you enter a spectacular mineral area. Cross a plateau dotted with rounded rock mounds that look as if they were placed there by giants. A magnificent landscape used for grazing, facing the long Pyrenees massif to the south.

A hike with multiple panoramic views, ideal from October to May: very sunny. The GPX track will be useful on a few sections where the yellow markings are scarce. See §: Practical information

A quick detour to view the village from above and admire the irrigation system along the canal. Much of the walk is in the shade.

This hike takes place on paths that are rarely or never used. The route is enhanced by passing through various sites. This long hike ² should be avoided in hot weather despite the low vegetation cover.

Hike on good trails that allow you to discover mountain chapels. Beautiful views of the Madres Massif. A visit to Conat is also interesting. The only difficulty is above Saint-Christophe Chapel: the trail is unmarked and sometimes difficult to see. It is necessary to know how to use a map and compass and/or how to follow a GPS track. However, it is possible to avoid this section and shorten the hike by connecting the points (3) to (9).

A pleasant hike in Conflent Roman, on trails partly through the woods, around the Taurinya valley, where the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Cuxa (10th and 12th centuries), one of the largest pre-Romanesque churches in Europe, is nestled. See also the impressive siphon of the Bohère Canal and, at the foot of Canigou, the former Salver de Taurinya mining site. Several viewpoints over the valley and the Canigou massif.

This hike will take us from the village of Eus to the restored hermitage of Saint-Jacques de Calahons via a path that runs partly through the woods. We will follow part of the Chemin des Cabanes, the remains of pastoral activity. The Canigou mountain range accompanies us along the entire route.

This hike is classified as difficult due to its length, a steep climb and the need for a good sense of direction. However, the route follows beautiful paths and tracks that are almost always uncovered. It is a discovery of a landscape that is still occupied by humans, goats and sheep. A mountain water catchment supplies water to the magnificent Catalan village of Eus.

This hike takes place on a south-facing slope, allowing you to spend a day in the sun, with the Canigou massif in your sights.

Hike from pass to pass from the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Cuxa. Pass through the old Salver mining site then on to the Cours tower. The hike itself is not difficult, but a very good sense of direction, good terrain reading skills, the route on the app or GPS and the description are essential. Variations are possible: see § Practical information.

This route allows you to discover military remains (Vauban's cistern and redoubt) as well as former ore quarries (marble, manganese and talc) and, above all, superb panoramic views of the Têt and Cady valleys. You can also see Villefranche-de-Conflent and Fort Libéria from above. This is a fairly easy hike, but don't underestimate the length.

What could be more surprising than visiting a chapel built by human hands, completely isolated on a seemingly impassable rock face, with a huge cave overlooking it, also equipped with an altar forming another chapel, this one natural and even larger than the previous one!On the way up, there is a smaller cave. Both caves are completely safe. With a torch, you can explore them more fully...From up there, you'll get a breathtaking view of the Têt Valley, the surrounding valleys and the Canigou.

This is a good, challenging hike, mostly off the beaten track, along ancient paths in the Sant-Pere massif. At the foot of Roc Campanya/Campagna, you will discover an incredible view of the Têt and Rotja valleys. There is a 180° view with the 2,784-metre-high Canigou in the south.

Roc Campanyà or Campagnia rises to an altitude of 1,134 metres, just above the Mas de Lastourg campsite in the Têt Valley, very close to Villefranche-de-Conflent. Its pointed, aggressive silhouette and the chaos of the Sant-Pere massif on which it is perched suggest that it is inaccessible without climbing equipment... But it's not. With a good pace and a good sense of direction, hikers can reach the summit in just 3 hours.Read the comments carefully before setting off on this route. Don't hesitate to turn back. There is a way out of the route between (10) and (5): return via the Vallon des Horts, a hike described here on visorando. The point (10) on this route corresponds to the point (4) on the other route.

A beautiful heritage-filled family getaway that will allow you to discover the Priory of Marcevol, listed as a Historic Monument.

A walk beneath Canigou with views of the villages on the left bank of the Têt. You will pass a dolmen and the ruins of the church in the old village. No difficulty. Suitable in all seasons.

A little-visited but very pleasant area, in winter or early spring when the Canigou is covered in snow. The trail is mostly signposted and very well marked.

This short hike of just over 7 km takes you along the banks of the Canal de Jando (or "Rec Nou"), an abandoned irrigation canal that now serves as a footpath.The unmarked trail is located on the south side of the Têt valley and offers a sunny 2.5-hour walk or 1.5-hour run on suitable sections, close to the campsite, providing hikers with an alternative to longer hikes that require a car.

To get from the Lastourg campsite to Serdinya without taking the main road, there is a charming path that runs alongside the Têt river.Please note that crossing the campsite is not permitted, as it is private property!

This is a short hike in the mountains above Serdinya, starting from Villefranche-de-Conflent and ending at the fountains of Les Horts, an abandoned village in ruins. The hike follows the old village access path, known as the "Chemin des Horts à Villefranche" in the Napoleonic land registry, although it is in very poor condition. The landscape is typical of the Catalan Pyrenees: mountains, yet with Mediterranean buildings and vegetation.

A beautiful and easy hike open to all in the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Nature Park, which will allow you to discover the villages of Clara and Taurinya. The starting point is in the car park opposite the Church of Saint-Martin in Clara.

Roc Campanyà rises to an altitude of 1,134 metres, just above the Mas de Lastourg campsite in the Têt Valley, very close to Villefranche-de-Conflent. Breathtaking views of the Têt Valley, the Rotja Valley, the Fillols Valley and the Catalan giant, the Canigou. With a sheer drop of 834 metres, it seems inaccessible... yet it is!

A day hike from Corneilla-de-Conflent. The total elevation gain is approximately 785 m.Do not underestimate this hike. The slope is very steep from the start.From Coll de Juell (6) to the fork (7), the balcony path allows you to enjoy the landscape of the Canigó massif. The path to Ribera de Fillols and up to the track is very beautiful.The green path from Coll de Milleres to Fillols and then the descent to Corneilla are very pleasant.The GPX track may be necessary in some places.

A pleasant circular that allows you to take a break at the Fillols bistro. A few shaded sections make it enjoyable in all seasons. No difficulty. Only a small broken bridge over the stream at the start may deter the less agile.

If there is one peak to climb in Catalonia, it is Canigou (the Catalan Olympus). Rising to 2,784.66 metres, it offers exceptional views from the summit, where there is an orientation table.

Inspired by a Visorandonneur hike called "Le Sentier des 5 Sens depuis la route du Col de Jau" (The 5 Senses Trail from the Col de Jau road), the idea of doing it on snowshoes was made possible by the exceptional snowfall of the previous days. There was enough good snow to avoid having to climb up and start from the Col de Jau as we did in other winters. Apart from the track leading from the road to the car park, the entire hike took place in virgin snow, allowing us to see animal tracks in all directions. It was a real treat!

After a fairly steep climb from the village of Tarerach, a hike through the hills to discover a few rocks, peaks and the ruins of a church, a sheepfold and a fortified house. Vast landscapes throughout this circular route.

A superb, very easy hike that is accessible to everyone and will allow you to appreciate the Mosset communal forest.

A pleasant outing along the Sahorre Canal and a historical walk among the remains of the iron route. Caution for those prone to vertigo: although the path along the canal is generally good, from (5) there are places where you have to walk straddling the canal, on narrow footbridges and areas where the edge of the canal is very narrow. Alternative route possible.

A beautiful hike in the forest with many different species of trees. A ridge trail from one pass to another. Fairly varied terrain offering beautiful views of Canigou, Tres Estelles and Madrès. A visit to the beautifully restored orri (stone hut) at Coll de Tuja and Clot de Baladres.

A short hike in the mountains above Serdinya to the abandoned village of Les Horts.This is a typical landscape of the Catalan Pyrenees: mountains, yet with Mediterranean buildings and vegetation.

This half-day hike, far from the beaten track of Catalonia and the marked trails, takes you to the heights of Serdinya in the secret territory of wild boars and chamois. You will pass through the abandoned village of Les Horts. Magnificent landscapes, superb views and tranquillity guaranteed!

This hike is accessible by public transport. The hike is classified as difficult due to its elevation gain and the fact that much of the route is unmarked. It is a circular route that takes you on a journey of discovery through pastoral life, three old hamlets, two of which are still in perfect condition, a refuge and a mountain church.

This two-day hike, with an overnight stay at the Refuge des Cortalets, allows for one or more alternative routes each day, depending on the weather or your needs. The route is fully signposted. The suggested alternatives stay on the signposted paths or tracks, so there is no risk of getting lost. In addition, on thefirst day (upon arrival) or thesecond day (before descending): the ascent of Pic del Canigó (a round trip from the refuge). First stage of the circular route from Mas Malet to the Refuge des Cortalets. Ascent to Les Cortalets via little-used paths, marked with directional posts that are present and in very good condition (as of July 2025). This is an alternative route through the forest, sheltered from the intense heat, and above all featuring a steady climb with beautiful views. The only drawback is the access to the start via a recently resurfaced track suitable for vehicles (as of July 2025) up to Coll del Forn. After that, driving carefully, you’ll reach the car park without any trouble. It’s clear that a very low-slung car risks scraping the ground. ⚠️ Works at the Cortalets refuge in 2026, 2027 and 2028. This is a lovely loop that allows you to explore the Jujols nature reserve, with superb views of the Conflent peaks. The hike faces south-east, is very sunny and sheltered from the tramontane wind, and crosses pastoral areas. Shortcuts are possible on this loop (see description in the practical information section).
