Park near the church in Ria-Sirach or at another car park located on the left as you leave Ria, heading towards Conat on the D26.
Yellow markings
(S/E) Take the Route de Conat which descends to the El Callau stream. After about 400 m, turn right and cross the Pont de Sant Sebastià bridge, then turn left, heading north-west, towards the sign for "Llugols".
(1) At an altitude of 450 m, continue along the path on the left towards "Llugols".
You can take a detour via "el Pi del Rei" and reach Llugols from above.
At an altitude of 580 m, continue straight ahead towards "Llugols". The path runs through the undergrowth alongside low walls.
Cross Llugols and join a track. Follow it to the left for 50 metres until you reach a right-hand bend. There is a beautiful barn to see at the side of the track.
(2) At the bend, leave the track and climb to the left towards the Saint-Christophe Chapel. You will reach a fork 50 m further on.
End of the signposting
(3) Option to shorten the hike and go directly to Conat via a marked trail.
Take the path that climbs to the right. Make a round trip to the right to the Sant Cristòfol Chapel.
Then continue along this unmarked path, heading north-west. You will come to a ruined chapel, then continue to the right and 20 m further on, the path disappears a little among the rocks. Climb over them as best you can for about ten metres and then rejoin the cairned path.
(On the map, another path leads directly from the chapel in a north-north-westerly direction, but I did not take it. It also seems to join the track.)
The path then runs alongside a fence that serves as a handrail.
When you reach the corner of the fence, continue straight ahead to reach the ridge, heading north.
As there is low vegetation to go around, head for the large rock, pass in front of an orri (stone hut), continuing north to join the track at an altitude of 840 m.
(4) Turn left onto the track, heading north-east. 300 m further on, on the flat section, you will reach a crossroads. Go through the fence to take the DFCI CO14 track.
(5) 20 m further on, continue along the ascending track. Do not turn onto the DFCI CO14bis track, which descends.
(6) At an elevation of 914 metres, in a hairpin bend, leave the track and take another dirt track opposite, passing through the fence. The chapel is visible below.
50 m further on, leave the track again as it turns right and descends southwards, still on a track, to reach the Santa Margarita de Nabilles Chapel.
(7) 100 m after the chapel, at an altitude of 840 m, turn right and take the path west towards Conat. Pass by a barn. Please note that you will need to leave the track.
(8) At an altitude of 830 m, leave the track and take a good path on the left that descends steeply towards Conat. Just before the village, cross two magnificent Roman bridges.
Conat is a very pleasant place to visit, especially the climb up to the chapel at the top of the village.
Then rejoin the D26.
(9) Follow it to the left towards Prades and a little further on, go up Rue de l'Église to pass in front of it. Pass the town hall and continue on the D26.
(10) At the village exit, take the path that climbs to the right, just above and parallel to the road. Stay on the lower path and reach a fork with a track at an elevation of 517 metres.
(11) Go up this track on the right. Pass the house called "Les Termaneres".
(12) At an altitude of 610 m, where the track widens, take the path "direction Ria" and follow it to the end. You will arrive at the flag overlooking the village. Go back a few steps and descend the stairs. Return to the road and follow it to the right, Rue Alfred d'Arria, Rue du Castel, descend through the village via footpaths and return to the car park (S/E).
