Misterton with Walcote walks

This trail takes you from Rugby train station to the village of Clifton upon Dunsmore following a section of the Oxford Canal and Wilmcote the Shakespeare Avon Way. Sample a different side of Rugby, with an amble along the Avon Valley through peace and quiet to the village of Clifton-upon-Dunsmore.

My favourite ramble which begins and ends at St Denys Church, Cold Ashby. This is a proper ramble with both hard and soft surfaces and good views from Honey Hill.

A lengthy Northamptonshire walk that explores the countryside to the north-west of Northampton. The route uses a section of the Jurassic Way, the towpath of Grand Union Canal, fields paths and country lanes. Winwick is a small rural community of some 40 souls, according to their website, situated off the A428 north of West Haddon and west of Northampton.

A very attractive varied circuit in the Northamptonshire countryside, starting at The Wheatsheaf (if you intend to use the pub), passing Jubilee Wood, All Saints Church in Yelvertoft and coming back to Crick along the canal.

A pleasant amble through the Leicestershire countryside that lies to the south of Countesthorpe. The route visits the village of Peatling Magna before heading north back to the start.

This Leicestershire walk explores the countryside and villages to the southeast of Countesthorpe. The route includes a section of the Leicestershire Round long distance footpath.

This Leicestershire walk explores the area to the west and north of the village of Croft, which lies to the south-east of Leicester. The walk uses paths and bridleways and a section of road walking to complete the route.

A nice route around the perimeter of this Severn Trent reservoir. Start and end at the car park - there are charges, but not unreasonable. A small detour brings you to the trig-point on Hensborough Hill (see map). The route is suitable for walking or cycling. There are a couple of stretches where there is a steep climb / descent, so it might not be suitable for those with accessibility needs; however the straight dog-legged section of path to the east of the reservoir runs along a dam wall with a wide footpath and absolutely no gradient. There's also a small cafe in the visitors hub -check their website for opening times of both the park & visitor hub. Lovely circular route on paths, bridleways and canal.

A linear Leicestershire walk which uses paths and bridleways to explore the countryside to the south and east of the Billesdon. Return to the start can be made using Centrebus route 747 which has a regular service between Skeffington and Billesdon.

This is an attractive walk encompassing some delightful canal towpaths, mostly flat through countryside and woodland near the lovely villages of Long Itchington and Stockton. This is walk 15 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

A lovely walk from Long Itchington, a village with 7 pubs nearby! it goes over open fields and back along a stretch of the Grand Union Canal. This is walk 26 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

A stroll through rural Warwickshire with no destination in mind. This route includes paths, country lanes and a section of the Grand Union Canal.

This circular walk starts at The Kings Head, near Napton on the A425 where you can obtain refreshments. The route soon joins The Millennium Way along the Oxford canal then across flat farmland & open countryside, turning south to follow the Grand Union Canal and Oxford Canal providing a feast for those interested in narrow boats and history of our canal network. This is walk 25 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

Walk through the small market town of Market Bosworth, a stroll by the canal, and a walk through fields that may have been fought over in the Battle of Bosworth; the last significant battle of the war of the roses in 1485.
