A pleasant snowshoe hike in the Plaines Joux area of the Chablais massif.
Pointe de Miribel loop from La Glappaz
A modest but isolated peak, the Pointe de Miribel offers extensive views of Lake Geneva and the Haute-Savoie mountains as far as Mont Blanc. The route on the southern slope of the summit is marked by a Way of the Cross dating from 1804. This loop offers a more original and varied approach than the usual climb from Ajon, through pleasant mountain pastures and a few wooded sections.
Hirmentaz mountain circular from La Glappaz
The Hirmentaz mountain consists of a long ridge running south to north. This hike is a circular route that covers the entire ridge. The climb is steep, but the path along the ridge is very pleasant.

Hike above La Chèvrerie to reach Pointe de la Gay and discover the mountain pastures. View of the surrounding mountains.
Tour of Vallon Lake via La Combe
Hike around Vallon Lake, part of the Chablais Geopark. You will be facing Roc d'Enfer and above Vallon Lake with a view of the Chèvrerie valley. You will discover the small authentic village of La Chèvrerie and the Chapel of Saint-Bruno and enjoy the lake's shores.
Diomaz Waterfall
A very pretty walk for everyone in an enchanting setting. The waterfall, made up of several cascades, flows into a multitude of naturally carved rock pools at a place called La Diomaz. At the foot of the waterfall is the Croix des Chartreux, engraved in the rock.
Tour of Lake Vallon
Hike around Lake Vallon, part of the Chablais Geopark. You can admire different views of the lake and learn how it was formed in 1943, with the Roc d'Enfer in the background, and visit the Chapel of Saint-Bruno and the village of La Chèvrerie.

Starting from the Sommand ski resort, this loop offers access to three peaks in the area: Haute Pointe, Pointe de Chavasse and Pointe de Chalune. This route mainly takes you through alpine pastures, offering beautiful views along the way.

Crossing Les Follys and Pointe de Chavannais in a circular loop
I suggest a lovely circular route starting from La Chèvrerie (Bellevaux) with numerous viewpoints along the way. After reaching the Diomaz waterfall, you will climb three peaks in succession (Pointe des Follys, Tête des Follys and Pointe de Chavannais) before returning via the Pététoz area. The main difficulties are the distance, the elevation gain and the steepness of some of the slopes.
Lake Pététoz
A lovely "lasso loop" hike in the Brevon Valley, starting from Pont de la Joux. The trail is accessible all year round.
The Favières tour
An easy hike for a walk at the foot of the Roc d'Enfer massif. Walking along the little Brevon river, you will discover the mountain pastures of Finge, Favières and Lajoux. A large part of the route is through forest.
Pointe de Chalune and Roc d'Enfer loop
In the heart of the Chablais region, climb two iconic peaks: the Pointe de Chalune and the Roc d'Enfer. This long and demanding hike is most difficult when crossing the Roc d'Enfer, where there are a few exposed sections that require great caution.
Pointe de Chalune via Chalet Blanc
A must-do and very popular hike in the Sommand area. Located at over 2,000 m, the Pointe de Chalune is accessible and does not present any particular difficulty. However, don't underestimate the 578 m climb to reach the summit, a small plateau topped by a cairn, where you can enjoy a 360° panorama.
Pointes de Chavasse and Chalune traverse
This is an interesting circular loop that crosses the Pointes de Chavasse and then Chalune, with extensive views of the Northern Alps along the way. The elevation gain is not very significant, but the climbs are steep, particularly the one up the West Couloir of Pointe de Chavasse, which alone justifies the "very difficult" rating.
Lac de Roy and Pointe du Haut Fleury
The wide path that leads to this unexpected lake is very pleasant and easy to walk on.
You will quickly enjoy a wide panorama of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks until you reach a small glacial lake up to 10 m deep.
From the lake, I suggest taking the path to Pointe du Haut Fleury. A beautiful view awaits you there, along with two orientation tables.
Mont Forchat via the hamlets of Chatillonnet, Trécout and Très-le-Mont
A circular route to Mont Forchat, which is less difficult than the direct ascent. A gradual climb along a forest track with views of Lake Geneva. Pass through the hamlets of Chatillonnet and Trécout before arriving at Très le Mont. Access to the summit via the Balcon du Léman. Return via a steep path to the Col de l'Encrenaz, then the Très le Mont trail, an easy path through the woods before joining the Col des Moises trail.

Pointe d'Ireuse via the chalets of Nifflon
The summit is rarely visited, despite offering a splendid 360° panorama of Lake Geneva, the Chablais peaks, the Dents du Midi and the Mont Blanc massif. The route includes forest trails at the bottom and alpine pastures at the top.
Pic de Marcelly
Pic de Marcelly offers magnificent views over the Giffre valley. The last few metres are relatively strenuous, but the view from the summit will quickly make you forget your fatigue. If you climb early in the morning, it is not uncommon to see numerous chamois.
