Plaines Joux - Pointe de Miribel

From Viuz-en-Sallaz, follow the Bogève road (D42). In Bogève, take the D190B towards Plaines Joux. Park in the large cross-country skiing car park.
The start and finish of this hike are at the Plaines Joux car park.

(S/E) From the car park, head west towards the Ajon road (alpine pasture). Start on the road then cut across the bends following the snowshoe tracks. Arrive at the Ajon farm.

(1) Look for the sign for Pointe de Miribel. Stay on the snowshoe tracks, which follow almost the same route as the summer path. As you approach the peak, cross the small corridor with care, as the passage can be quite icy.

(2) Enjoy the 360° view with a magnificent panorama of the Mont Blanc massif to the south. Descend from Pointe de Miribel to Ajon via the same route you took on the way up.

(1) Head left, eastwards, along the path towards Les Fangles. Continue for about 400 metres and look for a winter path, marked by snowshoe hikers, which branches off to the right.

(3) Follow this trail, which climbs to the right towards a hillock and runs alongside a fence. On the way down, veer slightly to the right to return to a clearly visible crossroads.

(4) Turn right onto the path towards the small hamlet of La Tornerie.

(5) Cross La Tornerie, turn right at the cross and return to the Plaines Joux car park via the winter track above the road (S/E).
