Description of the walk

From Viuz-en-Sallaz, follow the Bogève road (D42). In Bogève, take the D190B towards Plaines Joux. Park in the large cross-country skiing car park.
The start and finish of this hike are at the Plaines Joux car park.

(S/E) From the car park, head west towards the Ajonc road (Alpage). Start on the road then cut across the bends following the snowshoe tracks. After the hamlet of Borbieu and three hairpin bends, the trail heads north. Arrive at the Ajon farm (IGN elevation 1408).

(1) At Ajon, heading east, take the path towards Les Fangles. Continue until you reach the fork in the road back to Plaines Joux (elevation 1377).

(2) Leave the path on your right (this is the return route) and continue eastwards. You will reach Les Fangles after an S-bend. Continue to the hamlet of La Combe (elevation 1267).

(3) Leave the road that branches off to the right. Continue northwards to the Col du Creux.

(4) Enjoy the magnificent view of the Mont Blanc massif. Take the same route back as you took on the way up,returning to the fork towards Plaines Joux.

(2) Turn left onto the path towards the small hamlet of La Tornerie.

(5) Cross La Tornerie and continue for about 500 m until you reach a crossroads with a cross on your right.

(6) Turn right and return to the Plaines Joux car park via the winter track above the road (S/E).

I really enjoyed this easy route, with its magnificent scenery and sunshine, accompanied by my dog MIA, a Border Collie, who was delighted.
We pushed on 100 metres higher to PACCOT alto 1335M. If I'd had more time, we would have continued on to the Crête d'Himentaz.
View of Mont Blanc and the sea of clouds, magical.
The resort was busy, but we were practically alone in the world up to the pass.
