Martigné-Ferchaud Pond
A beautiful and very pleasant hike, mostly along a wide, shaded stone path. The trail goes around the pond. Best done in dry weather.

This rural hike crosses the commune of Theil-de-Bretagne. The circular starts at the Roche aux Fées covered walkway, an extremely well-preserved iconic monument.
Route of the three ponds in Pouancé
A pleasant route that takes you along paths to discover the pretty countryside of Pouancé, its ponds, its castle and the charming village with its narrow streets and beautiful bourgeois houses. A superb family walk with lovely views.
Route des étangs, Châteaubourg
This route will take you through the Châteaubourg countryside where, as its name suggests, there are several ponds: Pont de Pierre Pond, Roches Bises Pond and Grand Fayelle Pond. You will also walk along a small section of the Corbière Forest.
This route is FFRandonnée certified. It can be done on foot or by bike.

Servon-sur-Vilaine (castle, river and mill)
A pretty, easy, well-marked walk passing by a chapel, the Château du Gué, the Ancienne Fonderie de Servon-sur-Vilaine, the Oratoire Saint-Mathurin, the Vilaine, the old mill, the protected Pas Davy site, the greenhouses (mainly tomatoes) and the calvary. The return journey takes you along a leafy driveway through a housing estate.
Around Laillé
A beautiful walk through meadows and forest with numerous ponds along the way.
Étang de la Provostière and Rigole des Ajeaux starting from Riaillé
A very shady route with little road (approximately 1 km) that takes you around the entire Étang de la Provostière, classified as a sensitive natural area, and follows the Rigole des Ajeaux, which feeds the Étang de Vioreau a few kilometres to the west.Note: avoid venturing around the lake during periods of high water. The path may be difficult to navigate.
Tour of Lake Vioreau
This small 2 km² lake between Nantes and Châteaubriant will delight you with the beauty of the site and all the activities on offer: hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, sailing, etc. The walking tour takes you along some very pleasant paths.
Terril and Abbartz Pond
A beautiful short walk in a pleasant and surprising setting. Great view from the top of the slag heap.- 2019: No real changes to the route, but a fence has been put up to protect the entire inner area after checkpoint 2. Follow this route.
In the Vilaine region between Laillé and Bourg-des-Comptes
This is a beautiful circular that partly follows theGR®39along charming paths. The return journey is along the towpath, going up the Vilaine.
This path takes you through beautiful landscapes, typical villages, charming residences and locks, and ends up running alongside this river, which is so poorly named.
La Trotinais in Saint-Senoux
This area, aptly named Pays des Vallons de Vilaine (Land of the Vilaine Valleys), offers a rugged topography that is almost unique in the department and will delight hiking enthusiasts. The La Trotinais route has a total elevation gain of almost 200 metres. The village of Saint-Senoux and its 19th-century parish church of Saint-Abdon, as well as the hamlets of La Trotinais and La Fiolais, are well worth a visit.

A short hike between ponds and following the Seiche river.
Boël Trail (Sentier du Boël)
A very pleasant hike. First section at the top of cliffs, with lovely views over the Vilaine river and the site "Moulin du Boël". Cross a shady woodland, then return along the towpath.
To avoid as much as possible passing along the military site's fence ("Le Celar"), this new description uses a slightly more technical part of the GR®.

Strolling around Rennes
An urban walk where you first stroll along the Vilaine river before crossing two public gardens. Then you wander through the historic centre of Rennes with its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses. With the Palais Saint-Georges, the Portes Mordelaises, the Opera House, the Parliament of Brittany and several churches, there is a rich heritage to discover.
Don Valley route from the Chapel of St Anne to La Vallée
Superb hike starting from the Chapelle des Lieux Saints, through the woods, with magnificent views of the rolling landscapes of Guénouvry. At a bend in the path, you will see the Château de Juzet and overlook the Don River as you head towards the village of Tréguély, then return to the chapel.
Walk through the historic centre of Rennes
A walk through the centre of Rennes, passing important sites such as the new convention centre (former Jacobins Convent, Parliament of Brittany, etc.) and ending pleasantly at the Thabor Gardens. The route also allows you to appreciate the architectural richness of old Rennes and some admirable façades.
The Circuit des Arcades of the Rigole de Vioreau canal
Discover an unusual trail, following the banks of "La Rigole Alimentaire”, a small canal feeding into Vioreau Pond. The canal crosses the valley of the Erdre thanks to four aqueducts with eight to ten arches and travels underground over 600 m. It is, moreover, spanned by many picturesque stone bridges... During your walk you can admire the Castle of La Lucinière and the wooded area on the other side of the Valley of Erdre.
Around Chevré lake
A short trail in Brittany’s countryside with a section along the Veuvre that winds before flowing into Chevré lake. Do not miss the small Roman bridge with its stone arches.
Apigné ponds and banks of the Vilaine
Enjoy a pleasant walk along the Vilaine river and the Étangs d'Apigné lakes. This lake area is very popular with the people of Rennes for sports and picnics. You are sure to come across joggers and cyclists along the path.
Forêt de Rennes: Juteauderies circular
A short hike in the Rennes forest along shady forest lines and paths through the forest alongside the Caleuvre stream. This easy trail is particularly beautiful in early spring, when the beech trees have young, light-green leaves, or in autumn, when the leaves have turned yellow and red.
It takes you along the old water supply line that brought water from the Minette (a tributary of the Couesnon) to Rennes.
Gentle walk in Nort-sur-Erdre
This walk is flat and allows you to follow the Erdre river before climbing back up from L'Isle along the Ruisseau de Montagné. This route is very natural, except for the section through the town centre (where we pass over a milestone on the Way of St James).
Circuit des Mazures in Châtillon-en-Vendelais
This loop will take you through the countryside of Châtillon-en-Vendelais and Montautour.Can be done on foot or by mountain bike.
Languin Mines route
The village of Languin still bears traces of the old coal mines, which remained in operation until the early 20th century.
The route will take you along the banks of the "Rigole Alimentaire" (food canal), past the mine director's residence and its 300-year-old Lebanese cedar tree. From the village, you will enjoy a remarkable view of the surrounding countryside, which rises to an altitude of 55 metres.
