Mallemoisson walks

This is a short loop, suitable for horse riding, which follows part of the Trail des Cathelières de Mallemoisson route. There is a quick alternative route to climb up to Vieil Aiglun and then return to the loop.

This hike takes you through the old village of Aiglun, allows you to see an exhibition of fossilised leaves in the heart of nature, and finally offers a lovely view of the Bléone Valley, with all the mountain ranges surrounding Digne.

This marked trail leads to the ruins of an abandoned village. From the site of the old castle and its chapel, there is a superb view of the Bléone valley.

A lovely, not too long walk with beautiful views of the Durance and Bléone valleys.

This hike starting from Courbons is an unforgettable experience for lovers of nature and alpine landscapes. From this charming hilltop village, you’ll discover heritage treasures such as the Church of Notre-Dame-des-Anges, the medieval mill and the belfry. The climb up to Martignon offers beautiful panoramic views of the Digne Pre-Alps. Once at the summit of Martignon, prepare to be amazed by a spectacular view of the Massif des Trois Évêchés. On a clear day, you can make out Les Monges, the bells of Barles and even the fort at Dormillouse. The final climb to La Bigue, though steep, is rewarded with a breathtaking 360° panorama. The return route via the Baisse des Chatières takes you through a peaceful, wooded valley, the perfect way to round off this adventure in the heart of nature. A hike not to be missed for lovers of magnificent scenery and tranquillity.

A short hike along little-used paths, evidence of the decline in agriculture. Sunny slopes and panoramic views that are well worth the trip!

A very pleasant walk. Up to (3), there are numerous views of Digne and its surroundings. At the top of the Andran (6), there is a beautiful 360° panorama. On the way back, there is a very beautiful passage before Courbons.

A very easy, flat walk around Lake L'Escale. You may spot many birds, so bring your binoculars! Although the road is often nearby, the path is always separate from the carriageway.

Two hills dominate the Bourg district of Digne-les-Bains. Here is a route that takes you to both in the same day. For those staying in Digne, it is nice to start directly from the town.

An easy route that combines the "Au fil de l'eau" heritage trail created by the Château-Arnoux Heritage Association with an exploration of the flora and fauna of the banks of the middle Durance.

A very beautiful hike with a trail that gradually climbs, offering beautiful views of the Bléone River, which flows through Digne-les-Bains. The fortified village of Courbons proudly displays its medieval heritage. A break at the summit of Andran (altitude 1,218 m) is a must, as it offers an exceptional 360° view.

The upper trail offers a completely different view from the valley. The Pénitents show their heads and draperies, which is almost more surprising than from below! And then there is a lovely view of the nearby Durance valley. The trail is easy, but there is often a drop on at least one side. Take care with children.

Although not very high, the Cousson dominates the region because it is an isolated peak. This gentle walk will take you to the original St-Michel Chapel on its perch, then to the southern summit with its stunning view. This walk offers excellent value for money in terms of the view/difficulty of the climb! Ideal for families. Allow 3 to 3½ hours for the walk, no more. There are no surprises.

This route climbs above the village of Thoard.The path follows, in part, a track that is passable by 4x4s, so it is quite wide.

A pleasant hike. Departure from the pretty village of Entrages. The chapel on its spur is a must-see. At the summit of Cousson, there is a beautiful 360° panorama.

This hike is best done in summer to avoid paths overrun by the torrent of hot water. It is a very easy hike along well-maintained paths, with the only difficulty being a descent that may put some people off. There are also a few dizzying sections. Those with a fear of heights should avoid this hike. The start of the walk is somewhat overgrown with wild vegetation that has taken over a little. In places, the paths are covered in water for a few metres before the path reappears shortly afterwards. Then begins a steady, unbroken climb with no obstacles.

A rich and varied route with a climb through the forest followed by a summit offering a magnificent panoramic view stretching from Montagne Sainte-Victoire to the Massif des Écrins, taking in all the foothills of the Digne Pre-Alps and Mont Ventoux.

This modified hike takes you around the entire Feston and its ridge, with some off-trail sections. It allows you to discover the magnificent panorama offered by the entire Barre des Dourbes. The lunch break in front of such a sumptuous panorama is just begging to be extended. An alternative shuttle service allows you to make a detour to the ruins of the Château de la Reine Jeanne and the Chapelle Saint-Pons. GPS and/or map reading skills are highly recommended.

Very beautiful hike to do between April and October.

Magnificent gorges, especially in autumn. The climb up to the Chapelle Saint-André is a 2km round trip, but the view from the top is well worth the diversions. You will pass through the remains of the hamlet of Valbonnette. A little further on, another detour of around a hundred metres, to see the ruins of a house, where a large round pillar has remained in its centre, still with the notches used to fix the wooden beams on two levels.

Short circular route leading to the old village, which is currently being restored by enthusiasts. Some lovely views of the Asse and the Valensole plateau.

A very pleasant walk, well signposted and perfectly situated to enjoy the sunshine all day long. The climb takes you through oak woods and offers a beautiful view of the Bléone valley and the Trois Évêchés massif. Reaching the ridge opens up a magnificent view of the Bès valley, the Bélier ridges, the Blayeul and, further afield, the Barles peaks. The descent along the ridge is just as pleasant, winding through thickets of boxwood and wild thyme, whose intoxicating scents add a sensory touch to this beautiful adventure.

A circular route starting from the hamlet of Mélan takes you to the Sommet du Corbeau, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Durance valley and the Massif des Monges. The route alternates between wide tracks, open landscapes and forest passages. It is not difficult.

A journey to the end of the world, ideal for lovers of nature and tranquillity. And yet we are in the PACA region, in the heart of Haute-Provence, in a wild environment where you can discover the ancient village of Le Poil (in the 19th century, the commune had 350 inhabitants, including more than a hundred in the village).

A very beautiful, easy route through ancient lands in the wild lavender country.

This easy hike takes you to a fossil of an ichthyosaur, a large marine reptile measuring over 4 m and dating back 183 million years. The trail runs along a fairly cool ravine before climbing up a slope covered with downy oak and beech trees to the Col du Jas. The archaeological site is located 200 m after the pass.

This is a superb hike, perfect for a family outing. It is not particularly difficult and offers breathtaking views of the Valensole plateau, the Verdon, Lake Sainte Croix, the Southern Alps, the Baronnies and Mont Ventoux.

This hike takes you to the top of La Baume. Magnificent views of Sisteron, the surrounding valleys and the Alps. You then cross to the other side of the mountain, revealing yet another landscape. But first, you will need to pass through the Grotte du Trou de l'Argent, which adds a touch of adventure to the route. During your journey, you will also use handrails, small ladders and cross a balcony.
