The start is near the horse park (there is a small car park at the beginning of Route du Monégros), but it is possible to start from the national forest or directly from the village of Mallemoisson.
(S/E) Follow the path above the D17.
(1) When you reach the tarmac, take the path on the left that climbs up before the house. It quickly turns into a trail (there are two slightly tricky sections that can be slippery and steep). Continue along the trail that runs alongside a fenced truffle field. The trail is not very well maintained, so watch out for branches!
(2) Just after the truffle farm, you will arrive at an olive grove. Walk a few metres up the field and take the path that climbs steeply to the left. Follow the trail carefully as there are many paths and few signposts.
(3) Turn right onto the path that begins to descend towards a small valley. Cross the valley to come out onto a wider path (there is a spring where you can water your horses).
(4) At the intersection, take the path that descends. Alternatively, you can take the path that climbs up to Vieil Aiglun.
(5) Pass under a firefighting basin, then rejoin the tarmac road and continue straight down towards Hameau des Grées.
(6) Turn right towards Chemin du Pesquier. You will arrive at a roundabout.
(7) Continue downhill, walking on the pavement opposite.
(8) Take the path on the right, just before the bend. You will arrive at Mallemoisson cemetery.
(9) Cross the road towards the Mallemoisson Forest, cross the Pont des Cathelières bridge, then enter the valley of the same name. You will arrive at the start of the Mallemoisson National Forest.
(10) Take the track on the right (the route follows the outer path, but there are several paths that join together to go through the forest). Leave the forest at the wooden barrier.
(11) Take the path that climbs up to the right towards the village of Mallemoisson.
(12) Be careful when crossing the N85 (use the pedestrian crossings), pass the Auberge des Marronniers, the war memorial and the rubbish bins.
(13) Cross at the pedestrian crossing after the rubbish bins and follow the road called "Chemin de Chabrières", passing several farm buildings.
(14) Continue straight ahead at the intersection, pass several houses, then return to the intersection you passed at the start.
(1) Continue straight ahead to reach the parking area (S/E).
