Author's update on 20/08/2025: minor correction to the description of point (4)
/The route starts at the Marais des Bouligons car park, which borders the D93 at a sharp bend (8 km from Luc-en-Diois and 7 km from Beaurières).
(S/E) Follow the path alongside the road for about 100 metres, then cross the road with caution. Take the path towards the Marais de Bouligon.
(1) Just after passing under the railway line, turn right onto the marsh trail: this follows a boardwalk through a reed bed for a short distance. There are information boards along the way.
(2) Continue straight ahead at the intersection.
(3) Not far away, you will reach another intersection (take the left-hand path on the way back to complete a small loop): continue straight ahead until you see some benches. A little further on, follow a path to the right or left (the two paths quickly merge) and continue along the footbridge until you reach the end (there is a barrier that you will need to slide open). Continue along the path.
(4) Turn left and shortly afterwards you will come to a gate that you need to open: follow the path uphill until you reach a small pass and continue downhill on the left via a few steps.
(3) You will rejoin the route you took earlier: turn right.
(2) Take the path on the right that climbs uphill (towards Les Tours), then continues at almost the same altitude. Along the way, you can enjoy some beautiful panoramic views. You will come to a fork in the path.
(5) Turn right uphill onto a well-maintained path to reach the ruins of the Towers of Rochebrianne (also known as the Towers of Bouligons). This is a lovely viewpoint. Retrace your steps back to the fork, then continue straight ahead downhill.
(1) Follow the same route as on the way there to return to the starting point (be careful when crossing the road). (S/E).
