Park at the entrance to Charens near the pond and the town hall.
(S/E) Climb between the houses on the left, towards the temple, and arrive at a farm.
(1) Turn right after the last house, at the sign for Col de la Caille.
(2) Follow the road uphill for a few hundred metres, passing the hamlet of Les Chitons.
(3) At the hairpin bend, continue straight ahead and at the end of the straight road, turn right. Enter a meadow and continue to the woods, following the edge. Enter the woods and follow the path to Col de la Caille. This is a little steep but cool in the forest.
(4) At Col de la Caille, turn left towards Bois Mol.
(5) Leave the track and take the path on the right (recommended for experienced hikers) for a climb (200m elevation gain) with the help of cables as it is very steep. Be careful, it can be slippery. Reach the ridge.
(6) Continue left and follow the ridge.
(7) At the crossroads, leave the path on the right (Brézés) and take the path on the left which continues along the ridge and descends to Col Saint-Pierre. Be careful, the descent is steep in the woods (very slippery).
(8) At the pass, turn left towards Charens, then Chemin d'Artamare, then take the upper path slightly to the left towards Font Granant. You will reach a crossroads near some cultivated fields.
(9) Continue along the track to the right towards the reservoir.
(10) At this junction opposite the reservoir, turn left and rejoin the starting route.
(1) Reach the village of Charens by retracing your steps (S/E).
