Park at Col de Cabre, on the border between Drôme and Hautes-Alpes, which can be reached via the D993.
(S/E) Follow the road for 100m towards the Drôme (south) and take the track on the left.
(1) Further up, after the first hairpin bend to the left, turn right onto a fairly steep forest track and follow it to the Col de Valdrôme (yellow and red/whiteGR® markings).
(2) At the Col de Valdrôme, leave theGR® and head opposite (signposted "Banne"). Climb towards the summit along the ridge through the undergrowth, following the yellow markings.
(3) From the summit, head due north to find the yellow markings, which you will follow carefully north-east then east to reach the bottom of the Aup (Banne).
(4) At the intersection, take a track (vehicle tracks) on the left heading north-northwest to rejoin theGR® trail (widened by forestry work), which you follow to the Col de Banillon.
(5) At the Col de Banillon, take the forest track on the left and follow it until you reach the junction between the ascent and descent routes.
(2) Take the uphill route again to the car park (S/E).
