Start from the car park at the beginning of the Allée du Château des Côtes, i.e. the small road leading to the Centre Pédiatrique des Côtes. To get there, follow the signs for "Centre Pédiatrique / Terrains de sport". N.B. The car park at the end of this road is reserved for staff and users of the Centre Pédiatrique.
Green signposting
The markings are extremely rare (I counted three markers, including one at the start) and of little use.
(S/E) Head due south towards the Centre Pédiatrique, on a cement path to the right of the road.
(1) Opposite the entrance to the centre, turn right towards Côtes de Montbron (sign). Follow the tarmac lane, skirting horse pastures on the right and ignoring the entrances to several private properties on the left. When you reach the property known as Les Alènes, continue straight ahead along a footpath bordering a meadow in the direction of Toussus.
Before the end of the meadow, turn left and enter the undergrowth on a wider path. Go along a fence on your left, turn right with the path, continue due west between two fences and come out on the edge of a field.
Red and yellow markings
Up to the weir of the third pond (5), the GRP® Ceinture Verte d'Ile-de-France takes paths that are not all shown on the IGN map, and the purple lines of the paths that are supposed to be waymarked are not always accurate.
(2) Turn left at a right angle, go through a forest fence and enter the woods. At the next fork in the road, follow a downhill path to the left. At the T-junction, turn right. Go west-south-west, ignoring the paths at the sides.
(3) At a fork in the road, take the left-hand path and immediately afterwards, at the level of a lone tree on the right-hand side, turn left onto a path that starts between the grasses. Be careful, the start is discreet; do not cross the stream. Go east-north-east between the grasses, ignoring a trailhead on the left and reaching the left bank of the stream (on your right).
At a fork, turn right and cross the stream on a wooden footbridge(there is no signpost but a marker beyond the stream). Continue eastwards along the first pond on your left. When you reach the dyke, go straight on and follow a second pond, again on your left.
(4) Turn left onto the dyke separating the second and third ponds (very grassy path; see practical information for a variation). At the end, turn right and walk along a fence on your left. Cross the pond's weir and, at the forestry gate that immediately follows, turn left and take a passage through the fence.
Green markings (extremely rare)
(5) Once through the fence, leave the GRP® to the right and turn left onto the path. Walk along the fence on your left again (which gives you the feeling you are retracing your steps) then turn right onto the path (private property on your left). Climb gently and stay high above the golf course on your right. Pass through a gate on private property (this is the paediatric centre) and begin a gentle descent. At the bottom, a passage (apparently legal) in the fence on the right gives access to the edge of the largest of the golf course's ponds. Continue eastwards, with the pond on your right behind a fence and end up on a path at the bottom of some stone steps.

(6) At the bottom of the steps, turn left (ignore the two arrows that seem to suggest you turn right, as they probably point in the opposite direction). Make a steep climb with a wall on your right. At the top, go through a red and white barrier and immediately turn left at an acute angle onto a small road (Chemin des Côtes Montbron). At no. 7, zigzag left and right onto a shady path running parallel to the road. At the end, cross the Paediatric Centre car park.
Green signs
(1) Turn right onto the cement path you took on the outward journey and quickly return to the car park (S/E).
