Park at Place de l’Église.
(S/E) Cross the D792 to reach Place de Martray.
(1) Continue straight ahead and take the D60. Pass the Hôtel Sevoy and arrive at the embankment.
(2) Take the path on the left along the embankment. At the end of the embankment, turn right onto the D52 until you reach the Sports et Nature car park. At the car park entrance, follow the path to the footbridge on the fishing trail.
(3) Turn left onto the path that climbs back up to the D52 road.
(4) Cross the road and take the path opposite. At the edge of the woods, at the junction, follow the mountain bike route. Head towards the wayside shrine at the entrance to Saint-Maudez.
(5) Turn right, then left, following the farm buildings. Continue straight on until you reach the first path on your right.
(6) Take this path, leaving the mountain bike trail markings, and head for the right bank of the Étang de Jugon.
(7) Follow the lake, leaving it at the junction to take the hiking trail on the right. At the junction of the mountain bike and walking trails, leave the mountain bike route on your right and take the small path going uphill on the left opposite. You will reach the road.
(8) Turn right and head down to the lake. Continue left along the edge of the stream feeding into the lake. You’ll reach another junction.
(9) Here you have two options:
- take the short 13 km route: to do this, cross the small wooden bridge, then turn right and follow the lakeshore back. Inaccessible in wet weather (at the far end of the lake).
- Take the 18 km long route: leave the small bridge on your right and head up to the left, following the MTB trail markings; this is the option described below.
Head towards the first houses in the hamlet of Locriac.
(10) Turn onto the path on the right. Continue along this path until you reach the village of Manière.
(11) In the village, take the road on your right. You will reach the Rosette stream.
(12) Cross it via the bridge, turn right, and pass the houses of La Butte. After a sharp bend to the left, reach the village of Pengave.
(13) Take the road on the right.
(14) Cross La Rosaie and reach Ville Anquetin.
On leaving the village, 100 m ahead, there is a chapel and a ‘sacred’ oak tree that is well worth a detour.
(15) Retrace your steps back to the road to rejoin the route. Follow it by turning left. Continue to Ville ès Buret.
(16) In the village, turn right onto the path leading down to the lake. Now follow the lake along its left bank. At the confluence with the River Rieule, continue on to reach the village of L’Échaussée Haye.
(17) Turn right. The path leads back to the lakeside; follow it again along the left bank until you reach the crossroads on the embankment.
(2) Return along the same route.
(18) Turn left onto Rue du Four
Continue along this street until you reach Rue de la Petite Chaussée. Continue along this road until you reach Rue de Penthièvre.
(19) Take this street on your right and head to the first junction.
(1) Follow the route you took on the way there to return to the car park at the church square (S/E).
