Car park at the entrance to Prugnanes.
(S/E) From the car park, walk up through the village to the Benjamin Lodge on Rue de Palmières, the starting point for your hike. From the lodge, turn right onto Rue de Palmières. Continue along theGR® 367 (red and white markings) on the track towards the north-east until you reach an intersection.
(1) Leave the track and take the steep climb on the left. You will walk along a balcony before reaching a forest and then a crossroads.
(2) You will rejoin theGRP® Tour des Fenouillèdes. Turn left. You will reach a large plateau before starting a very gentle slope. A beautiful view of Pech Bugarach opens up before you reach an intersection.
(3) Leave theGR® and take the path on the left. A few dozen metres later, you will reach a track and rejoin the GR®.
(4) Turn left. The climb is very gentle until you reach the coveted Roc de Paradet.
(5) Enjoy the magnificent 360° view (Bugarach, Canigó, Capcir peaks, Tabe Massif, etc.) before beginning the descent.
Be careful on this section, as the markings are inconsistent and very scattered over a hundred metres.
You will come to an intersection.
(6) Leave theGR® and take the descent to the left (yellow markings). A few metres further on, ignore the path on the right that descends to Caudiès. A few metres further on, a small path on the left leads you to a cave. Then continue downhill.
Be careful, as the descent through the woods is very technical and sometimes very steep, with very irregular yellow markings.
You will reach the road.
(7) Take the road on the left and a few metres later, take a hairpin turn onto a secondary road on the left.
This route will take you directly to the Lodge Benjamin. All you have to do now is return to the car park at the bottom of the village of Prugnanes (S/E).
