(S) Leave the campsite heading towards Camps-sur-Agly, following the river along its right bank. You’ll come to a junction of footpaths and tracks.
(1) Take the path on the left to reach the ruined sheepfold at La Cayrolle. Continue south-west then north-west to reach the path leading to the Mondy sheepfold; this is a variant of the Cathar Trail or theGR®36.
(2) Take this track to the right, away from the sheepfold, to reach Camps-sur-l’Agly
Head down to this village, walk through it, then follow the track to the La Bastide horse-riding lodge.
(3) Stay on this path. You’ll reach a reservoir; at the next junction, continue to the right. Pass through the hamlet of Les Patressis. Continue north-west to reach the Col de Linas.
(4) Take the path on the left towards Pech du Bugarach.
Begin the ascent. This consists of three sections:
- the first: an approach climb through pastures and woodland, with some good flat sections where you can catch your breath,
- the second: a steeper approach to the first foothills,
- and finally, the third, which follows a path to reach the summit.
(5) Begin the descent, staying on theGR®36, known as the ‘Diverticule’. Reach a crossroads of paths leading towards the D45 road.
(6) Keep left on theGR® to reach the ruined sheepfold at La Couillade. Here, join the path shared bythe GR®36and theGRP® Tour de Fenouillèdes.
(7) Turn left onto this path and follow it until you reach the D9, north of Caudiés-de-Fenouillèdes.
(8) Turn left onto the road to return to the starting point of this route (E)
