Le Plessis-Trévise walks

A hike from station to station, crossing the Ferrières Regional Forest and then the Armainvilliers National Forest. Wide paths alternate with more winding trails. There are a few ponds along the way.

The commune of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés lies entirely within a bend in the Marne. This walk, from station to station, follows almost the entire length of this bend. It can be enjoyed in all seasons and showcases the river and its islands, the residential neighbourhoods along its banks and Charles Trénet, who lived here for part of his life.

Discover the Domaine de Rentilly with its three distinct landscaped areas: the English-style park, the French-style perspective and the forest, then continue your hike through the agricultural lands of the Vallon de Bussy-Saint-Martin, passing by the Broce and Loy ponds.

The forests of Ferrières and Armainvilliers are contiguous over a very long stretch from east to west. They form the largest wooded area in eastern Paris. It is a single humid forest with very little relief, dotted with ponds. It is renowned for mushroom picking. This hike allows you to discover the tree species that make up the forest: oak (sessile and pedunculate), ash, lime, maple, cherry, service, etc.

This walk starts in Crosne, goes through the Grange Forest and then through the town of Yerres before reaching Park Caillebotte where the painter lived. The walk goes along the Yerres River and finishes by going alongside the communal gardens in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges.

This hike mostly takes place along the Yerres, a tributary of the Seine, and also includes a section in the Forest of Senart and an urban section. There you can enjoy the charm of this river and the beautiful houses around it, admire two ancient watermills and come cross no fewer than four standing stones along the way.

The René Dumont greenway is built on the platform of the former railway line that ran from the Gare de la Bastille. After briefly following the Canal Saint-Martin before it flows into the Seine, you follow this green space through the city, first at a height and then at ground level or through short tunnels. The Jardin de Reuilly, Square Charles Péguy and the Friche Ferroviaire at the junction of the former Petite Ceinture line add to the charm of this route.

An urban circular walk in search of the French Revolution routes in two Parisian sites: the Bastille, whose capture had a very strong symbolic impact, and the Odéon suburb, where several key figures of the period lived, worked and gathered, including Marat and Danton. It's also an opportunity to discover the signs of other insurrectionary episodes (July 1830, May 1968) and a superb heritage ranging from the Gallo-Roman to the Middle Ages period.

Short circuit around Claye-Souilly and its shopping area, in the Bois de Claye and the Claye-Souilly Regional Forest. You can reach the Ourcq Canal, the Dhuys Aqueduct, the Papillon de la Prée Communal Park and its educational farm.

Le Quartier Latin is a labyrinth of streets, each as important as the next, as there is a strong history behind. The Sainte-Geneviève Mountain is home to several prestigious schools, and the presence of numerous students adds to the atmosphere of this magnificent suburb.

Until the advent of the railway, fishmongers brought fish to Paris from the ports of the North Sea and the English Channel in horse-drawn convoys. Their route through Paris, as far as Les Halles, has left its mark in the names of a number of lanes that this urban itinerary more or less follows, with a few detours through streets and alleyways that deserve it.

A hike mostly along rivers with a connection by the slopes of the Grand Morin and Marne valleys offering beautiful views of the region. Crossing through some of the villages, including Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames and Quincy-Voisins, lets you explore some interesting elements of their architectural heritage.

This 15.5 km route starting from Antony station is easy to follow and invites you to discover Parc de Sceaux and the Coulée Verte in southern Paris on a charming sightseeing tour. Let yourself be surprised by the landscapes combining city and nature in the Coulée Verte and by the magnificent views from Parc de Sceaux.

A hike through the vast open areas of the Briarde countryside with large rolling hills and views as far as the eye can see, followed by shaded areas in the valley and on the Grand Morin hillsides. Pieces of the architectural heritage along the way, churches, mills and wash-houses, make the trip that more worthwhile. The hike can be shortened to a 15 km walk, or split into two, one 8 km and the other 12 km (see useful information).

Hike around Epinay sur Orge (a small town south of Paris) from the train station of the RER C.It follows paths and quiet streets, heads through Bois des Templiers and follows the courses of three rivers: the Orge, the Rouillon and the Yvette. A trail through the Bois des Templiers with views of an old stone bridge with three arches of the ancient Templar Commandery of the eleventh century.

A bucolic hike through woods, fields, meadows and gardens, playing leapfrog with the Yerres and Ru de Bréon rivers. Two village crossings and, in Chaumes-en-Brie, a tribute to the musicians of the Couperin family and a farm with surprising architecture in the heart of the Brie region.

A lovely walk among ponds, marshes and, above all, birds, ducks, etc., lasting 4½ to 5 hours, or longer if you stop to watch the birds on the ponds.

A walk in the larger Val d'Oise forest, located only 20 kilometres north of Paris. Chestnut trees are plentiful in this hilly area with ponds and historical sites. A walk to the southwest border will let you discover some interesting features of the local heritage.

A hike that sets off to explore the Montmorency State Forest. It stretches across a hilly area dotted with historical sites, ponds, a viewpoint with the history of the lords, a passage through the Château de la Chasse and the pilgrimage to Sainte-Radegonde.
