(S) Exit Noisiel station via the main exit, then leave the forecourt on the right and head south along the wide, tree-lined avenue. Continue until you reach the pair of cylindrical water towers (the Totems) on the edge of the forest.
Pass between the two water towers and take the path on the right that leads into the forest.
Cross two straight paths. At thethird junction, take the signposted GRP® path opposite, slightly to the right.
(1) 250 m further on, after crossing a ditch via a wooden footbridge, leave the GRP® and take a narrow path on the left. Another 250 m further on, when the path seems to turn sharply to the right, continue straight ahead, opposite, along a track through a section of forest with very light undergrowth. When the track seems to disappear, continue straight ahead for about 50 metres through the forest until you reach the road.
Follow the path on the left, separated from the road by a low concrete wall. Cross the bridge over the motorway.
At the traffic lights, continue straight on until the next set of lights. Take the road on the right.
(2) At the sign marking the boundary between the municipalities of Lognes and Noisiel, take the path on the left (Chemin du Berdoudou). When the path reaches the edge of the forest, continue straight ahead (signposted ‘Bois de Footel’), then, very quickly, turn onto the path on the right.
At the crossroads, ignore the straight GRP® path on the left, and enter straight ahead through the gate in the fence of the Bois St-Martin nature reserve.
At the first crossroads, take the lovely path on the left and continue straight ahead, ignoring three paths coming from the right, until you reach the exit gate of the nature reserve. Along the way, you’ll see some magnificent oak trees, certainly over a hundred years old.
(3) Take the track on the right, crossing over the railway line. Continue straight ahead, along the road, between the housing estate and the forest. At a barrier, the tarmac turns into a stony path: continue to a roundabout marked by a small monument indicating the tripoint of the departments of Seine-et-Marne, Seine-St-Denis and Val-de-Marne.
(4) Take the path on the left (GRP®). At the crossroads, cross Avenue de Combault and take the path running along the left-hand side of a sports ground.
Continue straight on along this footpath until you reach a fork: continue straight ahead, opposite, along the boundary wall of the Château du Bois de la Croix. Pass behind the château’s outbuildings; a little further on, through a gap in the vegetation, you can catch a glimpse of the château’s beauty. Further on, walk past a pond (protected by a fence) and arrive at a fork: opposite, there is a double gate.
(5) Leave the GRP® and take the path on the right. You’ll come to a sort of tarmac roundabout: take the path almost opposite. After about 300 m, cross a wooden footbridge on the left. A small pond on the right. Go round another pond and reach a straight path: take it to the left and arrive at a track. Take it to the left, then immediately to the right, into a small passage. Arrive at a road.
(6) Follow it to the right for about 100 m, before taking a path on the left that follows a ditch, then crosses a first road (no pedestrian crossing). At the next road, cross at the pedestrian crossing, then take the path, almost opposite, to the left of the bus shelter.
The path turns left, then right, and comes to a sort of roundabout where five footpaths meet. Take the second path from the right, which is lined with two rows of trees. At the end, turn right along an open area (farmland). Walk down this road, then take the first road on the left (Allée de la Fontaine).
(7) After 50 m, take a path (protected by a barrier) on the right which follows a small stream. Further on, take the bridge on the left, then take the path which climbs to the left, on the edge between woodland and farmland. You’ll come to a road; turn right onto it, then immediately left onto the street (cycle path on the right-hand side). When you reach a traffic light (D4), take the road/path opposite, which leads to Parc des Marmousets.
(8) Enter the park. Pass the large car park on the left and take the path on the left which crosses a culvert. Then take the first path on the right, follow the moat of Château des Marmousets, go round the fence, and note the ice house built on the left. Continue to follow the fence to the entrance of the château, which can be seen beyond a pond. Take the path opposite (with your back to the château). At the first crossroads, take the path on the left. You will arrive at the Carrefour des Huit Routes. To the right, slightly set back, is one of the finest oak trees in the forest.
Red-yellow GRP® markings
(9) Take thethird road from the left: Chemin du Poteau. At the second junction, take the track on the right, then a path on the left after 200 m. The path turns right, crosses a lane, then turns left. At the next junction, first turn left then right, and at the following one, head left for 50 m to visit the Cabane à Papa (a small forest shelter).
(10) Return to the junction and take the GRP® on the left. At the junction, take the path on the right. Cross a few paths and continue until you reach a wide track. Follow the main track on the left, which is signposted and turns right twice. You will arrive at a roundabout.
(11) Continue straight ahead, along the path running alongside the riding centre on your right. After 400 m, turn left and leave the wide lane, taking a path that follows it slightly to the left, alongside a ditch. You’ll reach a pond and, further on, an eight-way junction. Take the Allée Royale on the right, at a right angle. At the next six-way junction, take the second road from the left. Enter a housing estate via a green corridor, then continue straight ahead along the road that continues from there (Rue de Brie).
End of the Red-Yellow GRP® markings
(12) The GRP® turns right onto a path: continue straight on until you reach the entrance to the sports park. Enter, continue straight ahead, then take the road on the left after the football pitches. Follow the road as it turns right, then immediately left through the passage after the first building. Public toilets are on the right of the passage. Pass between the pond and the stadium; continue straight ahead along a path that runs alongside the tarmac road on your left. You will reach the exit of the sports park.
(13) Opposite, at the roundabout, take the second exit on the left signposted “Le Plateau”. At the next roundabout, take the avenue on the right, then the first left. Then turn right onto the D233, then take the first left (signposted “Petit Val”), then turn right onto the Sentier du Bûcher. At the end, go up the street on the right, then the one on the left, until you reach the church in Sucy.
(14) Turn left and go round the back of the church, cross the Place de l’Église, and continue along Rue du Moutier.
At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, then turn left into the passage between the Post Office and the Media Library.
Walk past the Courthouse and the statue of Charles de Gaulle. Go down the stairs and continue straight on along Rue de Montaleau, then across Place de la Gare to the station (E).
