The walk starts on the left bank of the Azergues, opposite the post office in Lozanne. Park along the road.
(S/E) Go down to the riverbank and turn left along the river to reach a footbridge.
(1) Continue under the footbridge and go straight ahead. The path climbs back up to the road; take care to keep to the right. Go straight ahead into the field if possible.
(2) Continue straight ahead, you will reach the heart of the area with the Azergues river on your right. Just follow the path and you will reach theGRP® du Tour des Pierres Dorées en Beaujolais, marked in red and yellow, then you will cross the Chemin de Gage.
(3) On your left, there are fields where I have always seen many birds, so feel free to stay for a few minutes. Continue along the Azergues to reach a wood.
(4) Enter the woods and continue on theGRP® trail, which moves away from the riverbank to reach a crossroads.
(5) Turn left and walk through the old river bed. A little further on, at the edge of the woods, walk alongside two stadiums to reach the bridge.
(6) Take the stairs to climb up onto the bridge. Stay on the pavement along the bridge, then go down the stairs on the other side. Be careful on these stairs, which are very steep. Leave theGRP® here and take a path on the right bank of the Azergues. The return trip along the river takes you to a leisure park, perfect for a picnic.
(7) Continue and enjoy the views of the river until you reach the Hemin de Lozanne crossroads.
(8) Keep right on this path, bearing in mind that the last kilometre is of no interest but allows you to reach the first footbridge to return to the starting point (S/E).
