Start from the car park in front of Campan Town Hall. Other easy parking options
(S/E) With your back to the main road, walk for 50 m to Rue du 8 Mai 1945. At the intersection, continue right on Rue de Lesponne. At the bar, turn left towards the Adour. Pass a fish farm and an old water mill and cross a small branch of the Adour.
(1) Cross the main branch of the Adour via a concrete bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right and pass under a power line to reach an intersection immediately.
(2) Then take a well-marked path on the left.
(3) At the intersection, take the path that climbs to the right. Climb steadily and follow the yellow markings (beautiful views of Campan and the valley).
(4) Join a forest track and follow it uphill to the right for about 50 m. When the track turns left, turn right onto a path. At the fork, take the left path to reach the ridge.
(5) Follow the path through the woods to the south-east. Watch out for leaves, as it can be slippery. When you leave the forest, turn right and cross a mountain pasture to reach a hut and a snow well.
(6) Descend south-east towards a barn (closed). Then turn right and rejoin a marked trail. Descend gently to a fork at around 920 m.
(7) Take the path downhill to the right. Ignore a path coming from the left, and at the next crossroads, continue straight ahead downhill. Cross the Coume d'Arricaou and continue north-west.
(2) At the junction you took on the way out, turn left and cross the main branch of the Adour again.
(1) Go back up to the street and follow it to the right. Take thefirst left, Rue du 8 Mai 1945, then turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
