Park in the car park of the Salle des Fêtes in Champfromier.
(S/E) Walk past the bakery, cross the D14 at the pedestrian crossing, then take Rue du Champ du Pont between the post office and the old sawmill. Continue straight ahead and when you reach the road to the cemetery, turn left.
(1) Turn right onto Rue de l'Église, which is steep. Cross the D48, turn right, then left a few dozen metres further on to reach the wash house crossroads.
Take the dirt track on the left, which joins the D48 further on, and follow it to the left until you reach Communal.
(2) At the entrance to the hamlet, take the road on the right that climbs through the pastures.
(3) Ignore the road on the right and continue straight ahead through the woods. Continue along a wide stony path which, via the Pas du Bœuf, leads to the Champfromier Forest.
(4) Turn right twice, passing through a place called l'Achat, which offers a view of the Haute Chaîne du Jura, the Crêt de Chalam and the Cirque des Avalanches. You will reach the intersection with a forest track.
(5) Turn right onto the track and continue to a crossroads. Leave the track and follow the path on the right to reach the Auger chalet.
(6) Turn right and join the small Avalanches road, descending to the right. Stop at the viewpoint overlooking the Northern Pre-Alps and Lake Bourget, then continue to the Cabane du Facteur.
(7) Continue along the tarmac road, pass the Stèle du Maquisard, and you will soon reach the junction with a forest track.
(8) Leave the tarmac road and turn right onto this path. Then turn left onto the Sentier du Facteur and follow it downhill until you reach a crossroads.
(9) Turn left to continue along the postman's path, which leads to the road to Conjocle. Follow this road downhill to the left. You will arrive at the entrance to Monnetier.
(10) Turn left and continue straight ahead on the road to leave the village. You will reach the first houses of Champfromier.
(11) Keep right at the bend to follow Chemin du Ménéchar, coming out lower down on the D14. Turn right, cross the bridge over the Volferine, then take the first street on the left to reach the car park of the Salle des Fêtes in Champfromier (S/E).

. I eventually found it with the help of the map and GPS, but it is barely marked and progress is very difficult because the vegetation has reclaimed its rights and many trees have fallen. Heavy equipment will be needed to restore it all. I recommend continuing along the track to reach point 9 for now if you don't want to find yourself in an Amazonian jungle environment
