(S/E) Head towards the village centre via the D300 then the D7.
(1) Before the community hall (former Monchanin tile works), turn left then climb up the embankment. Follow the old railway line, cross the viaduct and head down the path on your left.
(2) Take the D50 (Rue Couelle) on the left, then Rue du Presbytère on the right: you will see a former tile works converted into a garage. Then take Rue du Pâteux to the church.
(3) Take the steps leading up to the left of the church and, at the junction, turn right. At the three-way junction, turn left into Rue du Château then continue along Rue du Puits. At the crossroads, take Rue du Bourg on your left. Pass the old tower, take Rue de la Tour on your left and continue to the cemetery situated on the former site of the Andon tile works, which no longer exists.
(4) Turn left onto Chemin de la Nava and follow it for about 1.5 km.
(5) At the end of the path, you can see the remains of a tile works in the woods. Turn left to join the D7. Turn right, and immediately take a path leading uphill to your right into the forest. You will reach a forest track that takes you to the Canal des Vosges.
(6) Head up to your left to reach the route of the old railway line, which you will follow to the right for
1 km. At the old level crossing, continue along the road to Rue de la Grande-Fontaine: on your right, the remains of the Pourchot tile works, which closed in 1982.
(7) Follow the street opposite. Cross the D50 and make the first turn left then right to follow Rue Mafioli.
(8) Turn left into Rue Saint-Antoine and continue to a small chapel. Go round the building to the left, then head down the path that passes under the viaduct, as on the way there. Take the D50 on the right, then go under the viaduct again. Pass the old forge (site of the Boileau-Mercier tile works and its manor house) and continue for about 300 m.
(9) Turn right, then left at the crossroads and follow the road for 500 m. After the bend, take a path branching off to the left which leads to Étang Neuf. Follow the pond’s embankment on your left to reach the lakeside chalet (S/E).
