Park in theeco-campsite car parkat La Clairière du Verbamont.
(S/E) Take the forest track straight on to the hamlet of Henricel.
(1) Turn left, pass a large metal shed, and continue along the path that climbs up beside the house towards the forest. Follow this path until you see a red marker (Club Vosgien).
(2) Leave the forest track and enter the forest; be careful, as there may be mud in some places here. On leaving the woodland, join another forest track.
(3) Turn left; as you leave the forest, you’ll reach the hamlet of La Planchotte.
(4) Walk through the hamlet and, on leaving, turn right, following the signs for “Ferme de Myrtilles”. Continue straight on along the Tranchée de Gruey forest track. You’ll come to a four-way junction.
(5) Turn left onto the stony path leading to the Étang Bleu, also known as Coné-Fontaine.

(6) Turn left onto the dirt track running perpendicular to the forest road. Further on, turn left and then follow the path as it veers to the right. At the end of the path, enter the hamlet of Clairey and continue left along the street.
(7) At the junction, carry straight on along Rue de l’École until you reach the museum.
(8) Opposite, take the stony path which leads back into the forest, following the Club Vosgien signposts. Then turn left, pass through the tiny hamlet of Sainte-Marie and arrive between two ponds.
(9) Carry on to the right along the path to reach the hamlets of La Frison. Turn left to head back up to the farm, then continue along this path past the farm towards the forest. Reach the edge of the forest.
(10) Turn right, cross the field and re-enter the forest by heading straight on at the junction with the Route Forestière Jean Gaspard. Follow a very gentle descent to reach the arboretum path. Take this to the right to discover the chapel. Then wander at your leisure along the paths to return to the eco-campsite car park (S/E).
