Start at the Emmaüs car park, located at 158 Chemin des Arnaud in Saint-André-de-la-Roche (06730).
(S/E) From this car park, follow the tarmac road called Chemin des Arnaud for about 50 metres and take the Valliera path on your right (marker 132). Continue along this path until you reach the tarmac road.
At this point, keep to the right on this path to reach the upper tarmac bend. Continue along the tarmac road to the next bend. Take care with the traffic on this section.
(1) At the hairpin bend, continue towards the dead-end road of Vieux Chemin de la Colle.
The road runs alongside the house. Continue straight ahead, heading north-west.
(2) At the entrance to the forest, take the path on the right, continue and turn left at marker 127 onto rural path no. 15 in La Colle. Continue along this path until you reach the tarmac road called Sentier de la Vallière.
Turn left onto this road and follow it for about 40 metres. At thefirst bend, take the stairway path on the right, which climbs and winds between the houses.
(3) Take the Route de la Colle de Revel (unmarked sign, wooden sign marked Saint-André). Continue straight ahead, heading north on this road until you reach number 423.
(4) Leave the road by turning left onto this carriageway. After 70 metres, you will reach the fence marking the boundary of the quarry. Turn right here. The path runs along the left side of a fence and the right side of private properties. Fifty metres after the high-voltage power line, the path curves slightly to the right. Twenty metres further on, a cairn on the left marks the path leading to the cliff (before the stone wall).
Continue along the path that runs along the cliff, winding between rocky outcrops, until you see the castle ruins above you (this beautiful site also has a number of climbing routes).
From climbing route no. 6, walk due east. Reach the road below through the fields (see photo) with terraces (invisible from the foot of the cliff). When you reach the road, turn right at the crossroads and head for the Relais du Château.
(5) Continue straight ahead on the tarmac road of La Colle de Revel, which descends.
(3) At the wooden sign indicating Saint André, turn right onto the dead-end road. Return via the same route to the Emmaüs car park (S/E).
