Arriving in St-Martin-sous-Montaigu, cross the village and turn right at the "Randonnées" car park sign.
Take the GR® via rue du Clos de Montaigu. When you reach the Reuchou crossroads, turn left, then right at the first junctiom (rue des Maronniers). At the crossroads, turn left, then right into rue du Clos. At the next crossroads, you can do a make a quick round trip to the cross on your left. Continue along rue de Suzeau.
At the junction with the D48, turn left. After about 100m, turn right. Follow the GR® along the edge of the vineyard. At a fork in the road(1) take the left-hand path (GR®), which enters the forest a little further on. After a bend to the right, turn left(2) following the GR® sign. After another right-hand bend, turn left again. Continue as far as the cross (hill 406). At the crossroads, go straight on for about 150m: you'll see a path on the right. Take this path and leave the GR®. The path takes you back downhill. When you see the statue, continue downhill to the right until you reach the grotto of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes(3). Climb back up to the statue(4) where there's a climbing wall.
Take the path in front of you, turn left and climb this path to the crossroads(5). At the crossroads, turn left and go down the path (be careful, it's very slippery in wet weather). At the crossroads(6), you reach St-Denis-de-Vaux. Turn left and take rue des plantes to the monument and the old cemetery. Then turn right(7) and take rue de la côte chalonnaise. At the junction, turn right onto rue du meix de la croix (you'll pass behind the church). At the crossroads, turn left into rue des Monestier, then left into rue du meix d'anteu. At the crossroads, follow rue du lavoir to the cross.
(8) At the cross, turn right onto the footpath (in wet weather, you can go straight ahead and turn right along the road). At the end of the path, turn right onto the road, then left at the next junction. Follow this road to the first house on the left.
(9) At the house, turn left and follow this path to the tarmac road to the north.
At a crossroads (10) take the path roughly opposite, which leads to a cross visible from the road. At the cross, follow the path to the left, which takes you to another cross and the cemetery. At the cemetery, take the D124 to the church. At the church, take the road on the right. At the next crossroads, turn right into rue de Blaisy, as far as the Savant cross. At the cross, turn right. At the next junction, turn left and take the grassy path that leads to the Orme cross(11). At the Croix de l'Orme, turn right.
After a short bend to the left on the path(12), take a path to the right before entering the forest and going along the vineyard. Go around the Château Beau hillside. You'll see a rock (pink/orange in color) and a cross above it(13) a path through undergrowth and then a clearing takes you up to the top of the rock and the Teu cross. Beautiful panorama over the valley. Descend along this path, then continue straight on:14:: to pick up a path that leads to a track. At the end of the path, turn right onto the tarmac road which takes you back to your starting point.
