Description of the walk

Park in the village car park near the church on Place Simon Favrichon.

(S/E) From the car park, take the Roche-Bas road (D617) towards the cemetery. After leaving the village, continue along the road until you reach the crossroads marked by the Croix de Villard opposite.

(1) Turn right onto a wide forest path towards La Bise for about 100 metres.

(2) Take the forest road on the right heading south. After passing through the forest, you will reach a crossroads at a place called La Bise.

(3) Continue straight ahead. The forest track turns south-west and arrives at the junction with the Route de la Cambuse.
You can turn left for about 100 metres to make a short detour via the Col de la Cambuse and return to the crossroads.

(4) Cross the road and continue along the path that descends. After about 100 metres, leave the small path on the right and continue along the track on the left towards the west. Continue straight ahead until you reach Chemin des Ry.

(5) Cross Chemin des Ry, then the D504 and follow Chemin du Chollet (tarmac) for about 100 metres until you reach a crossroads marked by the Croix du Chollet.

(6) Turn right onto a very grassy path continuing on from the one on the left, following the barbed wire fence. After about 100 metres, the path becomes clearer. Continue straight ahead until you reach the road.

(7) Turn left downhill along the D504 to find a path that veers right about a hundred metres further on.

(8) Follow this small path, then cross the road in May and continue along the Chemin de la Nuizière, which leads in the same direction to the junction with the Route de la Nuizière and the cross of the same name.

(9) Turn right onto Route de la Nuizière. The return to the village is via a charming little road lined with meadows and with a short steep climb at the end (S/E).

No particular difficulty. A few sections are overgrown with grass and not very well used.

We did not need to use walking sticks.

Worth a visit

Col de la Cambuse.

Numerous panoramic viewpoints.

A lovely, easy loop in a magnificent landscape, far from everything.
