Loop above La Nuizière starting from Le Chollet

From Cublize, take the D504 towards Grandris until you reach Chemin du Cholet, and park at the side of the road on a widened verge about 100 metres after Chemin Giraud.

(S/E) Head north and follow the road uphill. After about 100 metres, turn left onto Chemin Chez Giraud. Pass the Giraud farm and continue along a path between two fenced meadows. Descend to the D504.

(1) Follow the road to the left and, at the crossroads shortly after (elevation 582), turn right at an acute angle. Pass the hamlet of La Nuizière and continue along the road.

(2) At the crossroads, turn right onto Chemin de la Nuizière. Cross a small road and continue straight ahead. Return to the D504 and follow it to the left for about 100 metres.

(3) Take the first road on the right. Cross a small road (cross) and continue on the road opposite. Cross another road and you will immediately come to a T-junction.

(4) Turn right onto the GR®7 (red and white markings) and a GRP® (red and yellow markings). At the crossroads, turn left. At the next crossroads, turn right at an acute angle. Continue straight ahead until you reach the Croix des Alisiers.

(5) Then turn right. Ignore a path that climbs up to the left and, at the crossroads shortly after, continue straight ahead. Descend to a small road (cross).

(6) Follow the road to the right. Pass the Chez Bert farm and leave the road for a path on the left. Descend to the hamlet of Le Chollet.

(7) Take the road that climbs to the right and quickly return to the starting point (S/E).

Apart from the Chemin Giraud, which is very poorly maintained, there are no particular difficulties.
