L'ubac de Rebreuve-sur-Canche

A short, unpretentious and easy route.
Very small roads and paths for a relaxing half-day out.

Description of the walk

Starting point: Bouret-sur-Canche, nice car park near the school.

(S/E) Head south to join the D339. Follow it for a few metres on the left and take the first street on the right. Stay on this small road, which turns into a path about 2 km further on. Ignore all the paths on the left and continue to a crossroads.

(1) Continue straight ahead on a wide grassy, even very grassy path. Ignore a path on the left (see practical information), another on the right and reach the junction with the D84.

(2) Follow it for a few metres to the right, then turn left and immediately left again to take the old railway line (barrier). Stay on this beautiful, well-shaded path.

(3) At the junction with the D53 (isolated house, barriers), continue straight ahead on the old railway line.

(4) At the next junction (barrier), leave the railway line and turn right onto a small road that leads to the D339. Ignore a path on the left and continue to a junction

(5) Turn left onto GR® 121 and follow it for a while. Reach a small road that branches off to the right.

(6) Follow this small road and reach the D 339. Cross it and continue straight ahead (GR®). A little further on, take a path on the left (GR®) and reach Rue de l'Église. Follow it on the right, pass in front of the church and reach a T-junction.

(7) Follow the D84 on the left (GR®®). After a few metres, turn left withGR®® onto a beautiful uphill path that will take you to the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bon Secours (a pretty statue inside).

(8) A few metres after the chapel, take a grassy path on the left that descends steeply. You will reach a small road that you follow on the right until you reach the church of Bouret.

(9) At the church, turn left and cross the Canche to return to the car park (S/E).

Notes

This is an easy hike, but you should still be well equipped

You can also take the path on the left to cross "Le Grand Hairon" and rejoin the route just before point 1. It's not much longer and I think the final section is wilder (but quite grassy).

Note: this hike can easily be combined with the "De la Canche au Bois de Mortagne" hike, making a route of about 23 km.

There is a small playground near the bridge (after point 9) which is a pleasant place for a picnic. It has been refurbished and there are two tables under a shelter (let's hope they don't suffer the same fate as the previous ones, which some brainless idiots "amused" themselves by throwing into the river!!!!)

A very beautiful walk, I recommend it – I don't find many as interesting as this in the region – there is a bit of flat ground at the start, then a descent along the old railway line in the shade – crossing the river and more woodland...

A very beautiful walk between mountains and valleys. We did it backwards, starting at point nine, and easily cut off at point four because it was really hot that day. Note that you can get something to eat at the chip shop near the campsite close to point seven (open on Friday evenings, Saturday lunchtime and evenings, and Sunday lunchtime only).

Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience.

This is a route that is well worth the detour! We like to combine pleasure with exercise: this beautiful hike takes 2 hours and 5 minutes. The old railway track is a really pleasant route.

Just towards the end of the route, take the path downhill to the left (do not leave the GR, which has changed its route). Otherwise, everything is fine.

A very beautiful hike, with little tarmac and few major roads. It could be FFCT-certified and therefore signposted, although the explanations are already very clear.
