L’Orée du Bois, l’Embanie, le Fond de Chanot, Hauts de Fléville, the canal

Start at the Armsheim roundabout, Maisons des Associations, L’Orée du Bois housing estate in Fléville-devant-Nancy. Parking available.

(S/E) Head towards the D71 and, at the roundabout, turn left onto the uphill cycle path and carry on straight ahead. At the second set of traffic lights, turn left onto Avenue Léon Songeur.

(1) At the bend, take the footpath on the left, then carry on straight ahead.

(2) After the hillock, at the third junction, turn left then right to go round the pond on the left-hand side.

(3) At the end of the pond, turn left onto a track and cross the small wooden bridge over the Ruisseau de Frocourt.

(4) At the end of the track, turn right onto Chemin du Bois Banal and carry on straight ahead. Cross Rue de Brest and continue straight ahead.

(5) At the end of the track, turn right and then immediately left onto Rue de Nantes. At the end of the street, follow the path leading down to the left.

(6) At the second bend, veer right to cross the small copse and continue along the edge of the woodland. At the end of the track, turn right, continuing along the edge of the woodland and the fence.

(7) Join a track and turn right onto Chemin de Frocourt. Continue along this track, passing behind the retail park, then follow the motorway to reach Rue de Ludres.
At Rue de Ludres, cross the road to join the cycle path and turn left.

(8) At the junction, turn right onto Rue de Liomont. Before the first detached house, take the path on the right and continue along the back of the housing estate, then cross the meadow at a 45° angle to reach Chemin de Fleurychamp.

(9) Continue along this path, then go straight on into Rue des Bleuets.

(10) At the end of the street, cross Rue d’Erfurt at the pedestrian crossing and turn left. Take the first path on the right, Chemin de la Noue, and head towards the connecting canal.

(11) At the canal, turn left and carry on straight ahead. After lock no. 10, at the small wooden barrier, turn left and follow the D71 to the sewage treatment works.

(12) Cross the D71 at the pedestrian crossing, join the cycle path and turn right towards the housing estate. Continue straight on to the car park (S/E).
