The walk starts at the Armsheim roundabout, Maison des Associations, L’Orée du Bois housing estate in Fléville-devant-Nancy.
(S/E) Join the cycle path and turn right towards Fléville village.
(1) At the first road junction, turn left, cross the D71, take the cycle path to reach the canal.
(2) At the canal, turn right and follow the cycle path, passing lock no. 10 and continuing straight ahead.
(3) At lock no. 9, turn left, cross over the canal and follow the path opposite. At the Y-junction (not shown on the IGN map), turn right. Cross the Roman bridge over the stream and continue along the path which passes under a power line.
(4) At the four-way crossroads, continue straight ahead, passing under two high-voltage power lines and past a gas station. Take the 90° bend and continue towards the hamlet of Gérardcourt. At the end of the path, cross the stream on the concrete section of the ford and continue along the road. Join a small road, turn left, cross the hamlet and take the track on the left before the bridge over the motorway. Continue along this track, take a 90° turn and head straight towards the small wood. At the small wood, turn right to reach the hamlet of Clos Cardinal.
(5) Before the D112, turn left onto Rue du Clos Cardinal. Take the second right to join the D112 at the wayside shrine,
(6) Walk very carefully along the road, keeping to the left.
(7) Before the car park of the first building, turn left onto the path between the meadows and the car park. At the end of the meadow, turn right, take the track and arrive at a T-junction.
(8) Turn left. At the small wood, take the track on the right and join a small road at Les Jablins.
(9) At the small road, turn left onto Rue de Gérardcourt and continue straight on towards the Ferme des Pendants.
(10) Before the farm, turn right and follow this new track to the lock
(11) At lock no. 11, turn left to cross over the canal and, after the bridge, turn left to take the cycle path along the canal.
(2) Take the first cycle path on the right and join the D71.
(1) Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and retrace your steps along the cycle path to return to the starting roundabout (S/E).
