Description of the walk

Park in front of the Cordéac cemetery.

(S/E) Opposite the cemetery, turn left onto the road. At the crossroads, cross over and descend the steep stone track. Follow this track straight ahead until you reach the bridge over the Ruisseau des Sagnes.

(1) Just before the bridge, turn right onto the dirt track through the undergrowth and continue to the tarmac road. Turn right and follow this tarmac road, passing a riding centre. At the crossroads, turn left towards the hamlet, pass an old chestnut tree and you will arrive at the Vieux Cordéac oven on your left.

(2) Then turn right onto the roadand continue straight ahead. Reach the junction near the church and cemetery and admire an oratory, a rare heritage site in the Trièves region. Continue left to the foot of the Chalanne bridge. Take the small path that goes up to the right to join the departmental road. Turn left to cross the bridge.

(3) At the exit, go down to the right and take the wooden staircase along the bridge to see the old bread oven of Chalanne: close the door properly after you have gone through. Return to the departmental road, walk along the two adjoining houses and then turn right onto a small steep path in the undergrowth.

(4) At the top of the path, turn right and follow the track to the Chalanne stream ford.

(5) Cross the ford, ignore the path immediately on the left and take the street on the right at the three-way junction to reach the Guions bread oven on the right.

(6) Head towards the three-way junction and take the street on the left. Turn left again onto Chemin des Guions, then left again to reach the junction with Chemin des Sources. Turn right, then right again at the junction to follow Chemin de Chenalbonne for a few dozen metres.

(7) Take the street on the left to pass between the houses and reach the Fontannes oven, located a few metres to the left at the crossroads. Return to Chemin de Chenalbonne, head left towards the town hall. Cross the departmental road at the pedestrian crossing to follow Allée des Marronniers and reach Saint-Martin Church. Then pass to the left of the church to return to the car park (S/E).
