Feldberg Passhöhe - Sankt Blasien

This hike starts at the Kokoschinski Hotel in Feldberg.

Signposting: Schwarzwald Albsteig, white Albsteig diamonds and Main-Neckar-Rhein-Weg red diamonds

(S) From the Kokoschinski Hotel, go to the ski lift station. At the start of a trail, you will see a sign pointing towards the Herzogenhorn summit.

(1) Take the trail on the right, passing the Herzogenhorn restaurant. Continue south until you reach a fork.

(2) Take the path in the centre, the Main-Neckar-Rhein-Weg. Head south-east to the fork towards Herzogenhorn.

(3) Turn left towards the summit of the Herzogenhorn.

(4) Walk around the summit of the Herzogenhorn. Enjoy a 360° panoramic view. After this loop, take the Schwarzwald Albsteig, descend southwards to a fork with a sign for Bernau.

(5) Turn left. Stay on the well-marked Albsteig and look for another sign for Bernau and Sank Blasien.

(6) Continue downhill on the Albsteig, then start a short climb towards the Krunkelbachhütte. Pass it on the right to reach a small pass.

(7) Follow the sign with the Albsteig sticker indicating Sankt Blasien. Continue downhill towards the village of Bernau. Follow the Albsteig signs and you will gradually reach the village of Bernau.

(8) Cross the Dorf-Hauptstrasse carefully, staying on the Albsteig, and take the Sportplatzstrasse until you reach a crossroads shortly after crossing the Alb river.

(9) Turn left and follow the Alb along the pleasant path lined with wood carvings.

(10) As indicated by the sign, turn left and stay on the right bank of the Alb. Cross a bridge and continue on the left bank until you reach a road. Turn right onto the road and cross the Alb again. You will arrive at a building.

(11) Please note: The construction of a new building at the car park has caused a diversion to the Albsteig trail.
When you reach the car park, turn left to find a small bridge. Cross the Alb, go through a playground and quickly rejoin the Albsteig. Continue on the left bank of the Alb until you reach the village of Unterlehen.

(12) In the village, follow Todmooser Strasse until you reach a crossroads.

(13) Turn right, rejoin the Alb on its left bank, then on the right bank until you reach a crossroads.

(14) Follow the signs for Sankt Blasien, staying on the Albsteig. Return to the Alb, just before a sawmill.

(15) Turn left and stay on the Albsteig. Cross the Alb again, then cross the L149. Head south-east until you reach the entrance to Sankt Blasien.

(16) Leave the Albsteig and take the Kanalweg, which leads to the centre of Sankt Blasien. Return to the Hotel Klosterhof, where you will spend the night. (E)
