Departure from the village square in Cassagnabère-Tournas.
(S/E) From the square, head towards Boulogne-sur-Gesse on the D635 until you reach the village exit.
(1) Just before the exit sign, turn right into the small housing estate and follow the road that descends to the right, heading north.
(2) Just before the tarmac road becomes a gravel track, take the dirt track on your left. Walk along a hedge at the edge of the field.
Follow this path to the Nère (river), which you can cross via a ford.
(3) Be careful not to get your socks wet, as there is still a long way to go. If you don't have good waterproof shoes, it might be better to go barefoot!
At the end of this path, turn right to reach the edge of the woods, which you will follow for 1 km. You are now on part of theGR®86trail. Pass in front of the "woodcutter's hut" before reaching the D98.
(4) Follow this road to the right for 1.3 km before reaching the junction with the D81
(5). Continue straight ahead and after 100 m, take the path on the right. You have reached the Mauboussin Forest and are now halfway through your walk.
Walk up to the edge of the woods until you reach the tarmac road.
(6) Turn right, heading south-west, and follow this road to the right for 1.7 km. It offers magnificent views of the Pyrenees to the south and the entire valley to the north.
(7) At the Mondine crossroads, turn left until you reach the village of Cassagnabère-Tournas.
(8) Pass in front of Saint-Gilles Church, which has overlooked your entire journey, and now reach the village square (S/E).
