Description of the walk

Park in the car park at Sauveterre cemetery.

(S/E) Walk downhill and turn right onto local track No. 4 (Route de Montamat, a tarmac road with very little traffic).

(1) Take the road on the left, Chemin de la Oueyte.

(2) Continue to follow Chemin de la Oueyte on the left, signposted “local track 9”. Pass a small hilltop lake, then the access road to Dasté on the right. About 300 metres further on, turn left, leaving the track that leads to Oueyte to continue straight ahead.

(3) Viewpoint: continue left along the farm track which descends and then climbs back up to the D234.

(4) Turn left twice to reach the orientation table. Then, cross through Sauveterre via the Rue Principale and, at the crossroads by the cemetery, continue left to return to the car park (S/E).

Hello, a very pleasant walk that ends with a superb view of the Pyrenees!
We did it with an elderly person who’s used to walking on flat ground; she found it a bit challenging as there are two fairly steep climbs.
Otherwise, it was really lovely. We only came across one car the whole way, but we did pass lots of cows 🐮!!
We’ll definitely be doing it again!!
