The walk climbs gently before descending towards Le Molard and the Saint-Martin 1 cable car. Throughout the route, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the mountains and the Belleville valley. The alpine pastures offer magnificent scenery. Best done in summer whilst the ski lifts are operating.

Description of the walk

Park in the large car park at the rear of the Résidence Brelin.

(S) Start by following the signposted path up towards La Fémaz/Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. At the first junction, continue up the path on the left. At the second junction, continue up the path straight ahead. Cross the Allamands and Reynaud streams.

(1) Ignore the path leading uphill to the right and continue along the main path. You’ll begin a gentle descent to the crossroads known as La Fémaz.

(2) Carry on straight ahead along the path signposted ‘Le Molard’. The path may be a little damp where it crosses several streams. You’ll come to a junction.

(3) Carry on straight ahead. At the end of the route, the path climbs slightly to reach the upper station of the Saint-Martin 1 cable car at Le Molard (E).

Take this cable car down to Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. You can return to the starting car park using the free shuttle buses that serve the whole valley between Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Val Thorens. Alight at the Les Menuires coach station.
