The Brennersteig route (distillery route) is a pleasant walk near Oberkirch, in the foothills of the Black Forest, winding through woods, orchards and vineyards.As it is not particularly difficult, this walk is ideal for a family outing.

A walk through the forest and vineyard of Nussbach with a lot a chery trees in the spring. From amazing view point on the Vosges and black forest, to tiny (or bigger) chappel passing by lambs and goats, this hike is easy to do. Think to bring a hat as part of the hike is fully exposed to the sun. A pleasant walk for a Sunday afternoon.

A beautiful hike that takes us through orchards, vineyards and a small forest to some stunning viewpoints around Nussbach.

A lovely walk from Kalikutt with no particular difficulties. The first part is an ascent to the ‘Mooskopf’ summit and its tower. This is followed by a descent along well-marked paths. You’ll have the chance to rest at various designated rest areas and refresh yourself at the fountains along the route.

Explore the ruins of Schauenburg Castle, perched atop a hill spur at an altitude of 367 m, overlooking the Renchtal valley and the town of Oberkirch. In fine weather, there’s a magnificent view of the Alsace plain and Strasbourg Cathedral!

A beautiful hike to do in warm weather as most of it is shaded, with beautiful views. Picnics can be enjoyed at various locations. There are numerous benches along the route.

Hike in the hills above Gengenbach. Car park next to a clinic. The route is accessible to all, with forest paths and small trails. The climb at the start is long but easy, and then you reach some small paths. At the end of the route, there is a magnificent view of the town of Gengenbach.

Hike through villages, vineyards and forests. Several panoramic viewpoints over different valleys. Shelters, benches and tables allow you to take breaks. On the route you will find the Fatimakapelle, opened and renovated in 1997.

A pleasant short hike along the gorges, which are home to a series of waterfalls. The hike can be done in either direction of the circular route.The direction of the circular loop shown is the ascent of the gorges and waterfalls. The path consists of steps to make the ascent easier. Once you arrive in the hamlet of Allerheiligen, you will find amenities and places to eat.The ruins of an ancient abbey are open to visitors. The return journey is along a forest road.There is a dedicated car park at the start/finish point. Please note that this hike can be very popular and can get quite crowded, both in the car park and along the route.

A beautiful circular hike starting at the foot of the Allerheiligen waterfall. Discover the old convent in the village. The route then climbs gradually to the heights above Ottenhöfen and finally loops back to Schliffkopf.

This route will take you from Ottenhöffen to Eichkopf, the Edelfrauengrab waterfalls, the Karlsruher Grat rocky ridge, the Scherzfelsen rock and back along the Acker river.

You are asked to pay for what you consume by putting your money in the box provided. Various non-alcoholic drinks are also available.The route passes through low mountain meadows and forests.

Who hasn’t seen them – the bright green and yellow cups, plates and egg cups featuring the Black Forest rooster and hen? This charming pair of chickens will also accompany you on the approximately 14-kilometre-long “Rooster and Hen Trail” through the holiday landscape of the Central Black Forest, Gengenbach and Harmersbach Valley.

You’ll follow the Kuhlmann Weg Forest Trail, then take in the panoramic views from the Jockele Gück via the Keltischer Baumpfad (Celtic Tree Trail). You’ll then cross to the other side of the valley through the Auf der Eck vineyards and finish your walk along the River Sasbach.

A circular route starting from Achern station, known and signposted as the ‘Dreikirschenweg – Kleine Runde’ (a short 14 km route, with a longer alternative, the 18 km ‘Grosse Runde’), is one of the great classics. Special feature: a route with almost no elevation gain, about half of which is on tarmac. It passes partly through the town of Achern, its suburb of Oberachern, and the village of Mösbach. Suitable for a wide audience, this route presents no technical difficulties and is ideal for occasional walkers, cyclists and families alike. Throughout the route, you can enjoy a varied landscape alternating between urban areas, orchards, vineyards and the open countryside typical of the Black Forest foothills. It also offers several interesting views of the surrounding hills and, on a clear day, of the Rhine plain towards Alsace. Benches and rest areas are dotted along the route, providing pleasant spots to take a break.

Waterfalls, an old castle, imposing rocks, beautiful views of the Rhine plain, forests everywhere and, finally, vineyards and schnapsbrunnen. In October, there are also colours and chestnuts.

A very beautiful route in the hills above Sasbachwalden, passing through orchards, vineyards and a small forest. Superb scenery throughout the route.

Hike to the highest peak in the northern Black Forest, the Hornisgrinde (1,164 m), which you climb twice, first from the south and then from the north. Superb panoramic view of the Rhine plain. You pass the TV transmitter with its impressive 206 m high transmission tower. The route then passes through Ochsenstall, from where you reach the Unterstmatt ski resort. You return via another climb up the Hornisgrinde, then cross the peat bogs before passing the Dreifürstenstein.

A hike in the Black Forest mountains, culminating in the glacial lake of Mummelsee and, on a clear day, a breathtaking view from the summit of Hornisgrinde over the Rhine Valley, Strasbourg and the Vosges mountains.
