Description of the walk

(S) Departure from the Onda Refuge.
The trail climbs behind the sheepfolds to reach the ridge, which you will follow along a small, fairly steep trail, passing just below Punta Muratello (2141 m).

(1) Cross to the other side and begin the descent, first across the southern slope. Leave the alternative route (yellow markings) on your left and continue downhill, winding your way through the rocky outcrops before reaching a small plateau.

(2) Descend along the Agnone stream, before crossing it via a first footbridge, then continue along it. It flows in a series of small waterfalls, then you will find yourself in the forest.
Leave the alternative route (yellow markings) for Foce di Vizzavona on your right and continue on theGR® which passes close to the Cascade des Anglais.

(3) Take the footbridge that allows you to cross to the left bank of the Agnone.

(4) After crossing the Fulminato (Vecchio) stream, theGR® takes a forest track which you should follow until you reach the road. Follow the road down to Vizzavona station, then to the Vizzavona bivouac (E).

This is quite a gruelling stage, as it starts with a steep climb right from the foot of your bed, followed immediately by a descent of over 1,200 metres.
Vizzavona is not a village, but rather a populated crossing point. You will find a small shop selling provisions and several accommodation options, from bivouacs to hotels.
