Start from Les Charmilles accommodation.
(S) With your back to the accommodation, turn left onto Les Étoquies, then right onto Faubourg Soyères. At the roundabout, turn left onto Avenue de la Marne, then onto Avenue de la Légion d’Honneur. Continue to the bridge over the Canal de la Sambre à l’Oise.

(1) Just before the bridge, go down the steps on the right to reach the towpath. Follow this path, the Marais de la Folie, for a walk of about 6.5 km to Ors.
(2) Military cemetery.
(3) At the Ors bridge, turn right. Just before the church, turn left onto the path leading to the Place de la Mairie, then follow the Grande Rue for about 200m. Turn right into Rue de la Gare, walk past the cemetery (where Wilfred Owen is buried) and cross the level crossing.
(4) At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue de la Prière until you reach a junction.
(5) Turn right onto a dirt track that enters the Bois-l’Évêque national forest (motocross track on the left).
(6) Take the dirt track on the left that winds along the edge of the woods until you reach a gate. Follow the road to the left.
(7) At the junction with several roads, continue straight ahead. Cross the Ruisseau de Richemont using the footbridge to the left of a fording point. Continue straight ahead on the stony track which leads to the D959. Turn left onto it. Take care, heavy traffic.
(8) At the stop sign, turn right onto the D643 and head towards the centre of Le Cateau-Cambrésis. Continue straight on along Rue de Landrecies, and at the four-way junction, you will find the Hôstellerie du Marché on the right (E).
