Côte Saint-Pierre in Fontenoy-la-Joûte

In the heart of the "Village du Livre", starting from the church, this short trail, "the Sentier des Vignes", will take you to the Chapelle Saint-Pierre, a listed historic monument, and to the orientation table. You’ll follow a charming little tree-lined path and then a dirt track. A circular route will take you past the orchards and vineyards of the Côte Saint-Pierre. From the Haut des Monts, you’ll catch a glimpse in the distance to the left of the blue line of the Vosges and the Hohneck.

Description of the walk

Park in the car park on the right at the entrance to the village when coming from Azerailles and Glonville.

Cercle Vert signposted route

(S/E) Head towards the first tarmac road on the right and continue along the grassy path. At the crossroads, turn left onto Ruelle de la Guériotte. Opposite the church, turn right up Rue Saint-Pierre.

(1) At the top of the hill, head left towards the Chapelle Saint-Pierre (always open) and the orientation table. Continue by taking a small path (not shown on the map) to the right of the reservoir. At the end of the path, join a dirt track; continue to the right, following the signposts.

(2) At the signpost, leave the track and follow the signposted route to the left which runs alongside the orchard. Then head down into the pine forest and follow the path to the dirt track. Turn left and walk for about 50 metres.

(3) Take the grassy path on the right until you reach the dirt track. Turn left, following the signposts, and you will come to a tarmac road.

(4) Turn right and return to the village via Rue du Pâquis.

(5) Turn left into Rue Division Leclerc, then right at the junction to return to the car park (S/E).
